Right now the final kit is a little bit of a floating target because I keep adding things as I get closer to finishing it. For right now this is what the kit as I am presenting it:
Wits' End bolt-on 1FZ turbo kit:
• Custom J-pipe
• BorgWarner single scroll turbo
• Tial Wastegate
• Custom Downpipe
• All intake plumbing from air canister to turbo to intake
• All custom machined components for a successful install
• Oil cooler pressure and drain lines and fittings
• Specialized tools needed for successful install
• Some goodies too!
Nothing more. I want you to be able to install a turbo in your driveway in a day. Thats my goal.
Stage two to this is the A/W Intercooler BUT I won't be putting a crap load of time and resources into that unless I KNOW that this kit works and is successful and there is a need/demand. I have, though, started that process.
Anything above and beyond the 5-6psi kit I'm working on with Scott's help is totally on the end user. I won't be venturing into that arena.
So stage 1 = no intercooler. Still shooting for the ~rough equivalent supercharger price ballpark for a stage 1?

Yes. That too is a floating target but I don't want this to be in the 5,6,7k arena. I'm not delivery enough to warrant that, at least in my mind. Maybe I need to shut up and stop being so transparent in my thinking?

Yeah anything I do will not be a massive A/A IC with big ass pipes. I'm 100% NOT going there.
You should sell this individually ( hope so ) for all others around the world in need for additional ports for oil press gauges or oil supply .. wonder the other ports are the same thread / pitch .? or will have something more " normal " NTP .?
Just some background:
• National Pipe Thread (NPT-27 threads per inch) are 60º angle and sharp points
• British Standard Pipe Thread (BSPT-28 threads per inch) are 55º angle with rounded points
• You "could" thread a NPT into a BSPT
• Most running these in oil applications seems to be fine maxing out at 120psi
• Its because its 1/8" that it works, it doesn't work as well with 1/4"
The issue on my end is the orientation of the fitting for the oil sender, its limited on space. I wanted to make sure I orientated it in such a way that guarantees proper placement. BUT...as I'm learning, the range of "hand tight" varies WILDLY. So...
What I am doing is make it:
• (1) Male BSPT (to the block since thats what Toyota chose)
• (1) Female BSPT (to the sender since thats what the Toyota sender is)
• (2) Female NPT (one shallow for the oil fill line and one deep for a secondary oil temp sender)
IF there is an instance where the clocking is off you "could" tighten to change the orientation or you could use teflon tape instead of paste to build up the tapered diameter of the pipe thread.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Now as to the availability of these ala carte, only after the complete kits start going out. But eventually they will be available separate.

Huge thanks and makes big sense .. I'll grab at least 2 for sure when available out of the turbo kit ..
So far I've been " tapping " on my block to allow NPT use on all my turbo and oil sender applications ..

Are you going to recommend a particular timing degree position with these turbo kits?
I’ve been reading that the super charger guys shouldn’t go above the factory suggested 3 degrees.
Secondary question:
With the Scan Guage II reader. It will tell you your timing. At idle, mine is reading 6-7 degrees.
I haven’t been able to find a difinitive answer, is that number above baseline 3-degree (assuming its set at 3) with ECM correction? Does it know what your baseline is, or only reading what the ECM advancement/adjustment is?
If I jump the ECM pins, will that show me actual baseline & the scanner possibly read at 3 or will it still show 6 (an ECM corrected number or actual).

I have used thousands of drill bits, never once had one bend or twist, just snap.
I just recently picked up a 40th anniversary 80, mainly because its a Sage 40th, but also because its OBD2. So now the turbo kit has definitely peaked my interests. Following this thread even more closely now.

I was not all that interested when i first heard about it, but after seeing the level of quality and knowlege, this has dangerously gotten into my head. Easier than an ls swap! Even though i have 90% if an ls swap in my garage. Prob should just sell all that to fund a turbo maybe? Mmmm
