Any thought on my previous question about compatibility with exhaust systems?

Cheers and thanks

I don't see why not, as it's designed to work with oem system. so if an aftermarket system is designed to be compatible with oem, then thru logic, it should?

at least that makes sense to me...

just saw this on my FB page

Don't join the Facebook group or you will hate yourself. Some sick 80s, 75s and 105s in there.

:wrench:so let me get this straight. (I havent read all 39pages).....you are doing some sort of sequential turbo setup here with your York OBA spooling up your turbo?? Very creative and straight up techno viking s*** :smokin:

I am so ready for this to be done. I want boost!

Close, the York will still charge an air tank to 150psi, and then we will just dump that into the engine when we need like the “turbo” button on old arcade games. I mean who needs 5-7psi when you can have 150psi right? What could go wrong?? :flipoff2:

Haha no, the York OBA has nothing to do with the engine. But some people were concerned when I started this that they wouldn't be able to use their (York OBA's, Dual Batteries, Burrito Heaters, etc) so this is just to show everyone that the money they have spent on other accessories will work with the new turbo setup.

im gonna drop the ‘sequential’ in favor of ‘Scottryana’s Twin-Screw-loose- Supacharger’. ;)

Burrito heater...ha. I worked as a roustabout in the oilfield one summer. My gang pusher used to warm his lunch on the intake manifold a few days a week.

I was planning on doing a 5.3 swap once the HG goes in my 80. Assuming the power is comparable and the turbo kit is available before I need to do the swap, you can count on me being a customer. Would much rather go this route than do another swap from scratch. Add me to the list please.

That’s how I got here. Now I’m convinced that the 1fz is badass. Way more potential than I envisioned in the beginning.

Pretty tight squeeze with the Air Compressor but still around 1/2” between the coupler and compressor. I know it seems silly to stress over all the little add-ons people might have but it was very important. The 80 market is pretty small so getting this kit to work with a majority of the mods people might already have was important to all of us so that EVERYONE could enjoy the turbo without having to choose between a mod they already have and the turbo they want. :)

Turbo placement is good and done, wastegate placement is done, flanges came back from the machine shop perfect and are ready to be laser/water cut, J-pipe is done and jigged.

Next steps, drop it in the truck, route the intake from the stock air box to the silicon elbow and do up the downpipe. Then it’s get a drawing to the intercooler fabricator and all of the heavy lifting is done! Hoses are done, oil drain bung and cap are done, etc. I am very glad they decided to work hard to keep the stock air box for all the users with snorkels, you can never have too much rollover protection.

Thanks for hanging in there everyone.
