@scottryana, you going to re-post that imaginary pic?

Dang, I FINALLY read through this whole post! I just happened to come across it last week.

I’d be going crazy had I found it months ago & eagerly been checking for updates.

I think if this looks like it’s getting really close to a sure thing, it should be a sticky page with all relevant info, pictures, ballpark price, & people willing & ready to put up the cash.

I’m about 90% yes at this point. My only hang up, or apprehension, is figuring out registration since I’m a smog-required bi-annual person. I think I can resolve that, but resale of the rig would be a factor in the future... so I️ gotta figure that out & weigh the options.

I do think it should be a complete kit, including required drill bits/taps, as those wouldn’t be too expensive to include & look pretty application specific.

.

With the way this kit is mounted (j-pipe on stock manifolds) taking the whole thing apart and bringing it back to stock should be a one day job. You could just put all the stock stuff back in place for your inspection.

That was the plan, and why there is a provided cap for the oil return fitting. So the CA folks could remove and cap.....

Does anyone have an Y-pipe that maybe isn't in great shape that they would like to contribute to the cause? It seems like a few people have swapped stock Y-pipes for the Magnaflow units. Just want to make sure everything is able to bolt up to the stock exhaust, etc.

Where does it need to go? I have a stocker.

I've got a stock y-pipe off my 97 that you're welcome to have. Can mud ship or figure something out.

I've still got my old magnaflow cut off just below the Y. Probably not helpful for what you're looking for, but you're welcome to it if you think it will help.

For those with the mana flow, are there only the two models? One carb compliant and the other not? My boss replacement failed st the o2 bung and needs replacing

Cheers p

I see CX racing updated there intercooler design and it’s actually pretty clever. I’m generally not a fan of there China special stuff but the intercooler kit would be fine for a basic setup in a FZJ80. Might be a nice compliment to a non intercooled turbo kit from your supplier. It’s not for rock crawler guys but the rest of us with ARB or Ironman bumpers it would be a cheap simple solution.

Yes- installed in my Troopy but makes waaay too much power and was tearing up M/Ts......pulled it out and threw the sequential- F back in! tires are much happier. It did make launching much easier tho.....i will miss that :)

Too many of us would have a problem with that location.
I would rather modify a cheep frozen boost kit if I'm gonna buy china stuff.

It's a valid location. F-150's have it there, but the whole front end has been packaged for it. when the Raptor guys do a winch bumper they move it up to the grill.

don't the turbo diesel 80's have it in the grill?

Yep a lot of turbo diesel 80 guys relocate the horns move the center support find a new place for the trans cooler and put it in the grill. Just seems like a lot of work for a bolt on kit when the passenger side is open for a heat exchanger. But either would work.

That intercooler will get lousy airflow mounted horizontally like that. Without a scoop or something to force air through it, it's really not doing anything.

agreed.
air to water! routing 3/4" hoses vs. 3" tube. way better

electric fans on it at least ..

I have my PS oil cooler down there and it didn't get much air flow ..

Hey Ryan, I’m about to repackage my birfs and am wondering if a rehear is a good idea regards adding the turbo, I’m currently running 35’s on stock gears
