This is the tire carrier piece I picked up for my brothers 3/76 FJ40. It came with the incorrect later tube type carrier. I believe the body of the carrier, hinges, etc should be body color but how about this piece?? Several have said the original color should be pewter, is that correct?? Thanks as always..............

Yes pewter but I could never find it at Walmart. I'm using Rustoleum Hammered silver for my seatbacks, seat hardware rails etc. I think it looks great but is not stock but close, I'm painting my spare tire mount the hammered silver, it is not like a bright silver, looks more pewter to me but it does have the somewhat hammered look to it. New bumper got it too.
