Hi, folks. I've been having a devil of a time getting my blinkers to work on my 76 fj40. The hazards work, but not very brightly up front; the blinkers don't work at all anywhere. I *think* I have ruled out the fuse, fuse panel, relay can, and switch. I read on line that the turn signals on the fender are supposed to be dual filament, at least for the big yellow front ones. Mine are single filament. Is it true that they are supposed to be dual filament, and that having singles could be the source of my problem?

Make sure you have a good body/chassis ground. Weak lights usually are from bad grounds. I usually run a ground wire from the light assembly to the frame. Clean the bulb sockets and the contact inside. A little dielectric grease will help keep them corrosion free. Make sure they are the correct bulb. You can test the bulb with a jumper wire wrapped around the bulb base and held on the neg battery terminal, place the bulb bottom - contact (one contact at a time) on the pos battery terminal - should be bright.

Recently bought these OEM turn signals from city racer for my 76. After running crappy aftermarket ones for years that had several issues, I am very satisfied with these. Amazing quality and they work great.
