Jim Land,I will post pics of the shields when I get them in place .
There’s a few posts on here that show where.
In the mean time I got my 4 doors back from Oceanside Kustoms and they look absolutely amazing. They should for what I paid for them, it was double what I budgeted for and I could have welded them in place myself but I felt that I’ve gone the extra mile so far why cheap out now. Thank god for extra shifts on the Tugs is all I can say.

Ps. The vent covers we all went in on look great, I’ve got 2 sets and they look just like factory, it was a way better deal then the aluminum ones I bought a
Couple of years ago.

Ready yet?

Hey mate ive just read this thread from start to finish over the last week. I just wanted to let you know what you've done is amazing and its super inspiring to see. Ive been umming and arring about buying a 40 for a few years and this has sealed the deal. Keep up the good work man, you should be super proud on what you have achieved so far.

I’ve been away a long time, family and life got in the way. Things are starting to slow down for me and I am finally finding the time and money to start working on the BJ again.
Todays project is to POR15 all the door seams and the windshield frame.
I pour some POR15 into a plastic bag and nick the corner and spray it inside the ambulance door frames.
The front doors I just used a brush to cover the bottoms and seams where I had the new steel welded in. I roll the doors around three or 4 times until I figure I have it all covered and then drain the excess into the garbage can. The seams sweat black POR15 for quite awhile so I keep wiping the excess until it hardens . Be careful not to plug the door drains.

Hard top side are POR15’d what a crappy but necessary job that is. I poured it in the bigger openings and rolled the panel around as best I could to cover the inside of the panel as best as possible. Also decide to weld on the stantokns that I had to cut off when lining up the panel to the tub. They don’t drill the hole for the station to go inside so the only way I could do it was to make it shorter and then draw a circle around the pipe.

More pics of what I’m talking about. Now to acid etch primer the underside a and the stantion and let them dry before fitting them. Next weeks project is to drill and install riv nuts to permanently mount the HT sides.
Today I will mount the LH running board and finish my last cab mount.

The panels look like a dogs breakfast right now but they will be reprimered and cleaned up so they are perfect before paint . My priority was to get the POR15 into all the seams.

Hello Mac, yes it’s been quite awhile. Kids in university and changing employers threw a wrench into the build a year or better. I thought I would have more time but there is only so much to go around. Winter is here and I will be applying myself to getting it ready for paint. Good to hear from you

Nicely done. Very sharp. When you fit your hard top sides I would suggest loosely fitting your roof cap so that everything lines up. I learned the hard way 😒
