I purchased a Toyota engine rebuild kit that had all the necessary gaskets and seals. Here we are with the head back on, bolts torqued to spec, cam shaft all cleaned up and back together, valves cleaned and back into place

Hello,
We have encountered a problem. We have a BJ42 1982 3B engine. The inside of its cylinder liner is 102 mm, the outside ring is 105 mm, and the gaskets are only 106.8-107.5 mm. We have gaps of 1-1.25 mm around the circumference. Will the gasket expand when the head is pressed and fill that 1.5 mm gap? What gasket did you use?

The head gasket I used was an original Toyota gasket for the 3B which fit perfectly with no gaps
