While the body was off I thought I would connect the handbrake cable, connect the back hard lines, LSPV lines and the fuel lines that run under the body. As well as the heat sheilds.
All the captive nuts and some of the hard lines needed re-threading.

I have been reading on MUD about lifting the LSPV the same amount as your suspension lift. Some people remove them altogether.
I'm not even sure if mine works? Its going on for now though.
The easiest way I could see was to make 2 spacers at work and just bolt them in.

I'm not sure if its any good yet ozy?
I know it needs a new sender etc, it might be cheaper for me to get a complete newer model off Gumtree?
If I go that route its yours.

Heat shields bolted in place thanks to old photos.

Scraped this black foam from the engine. not sure why it was there but its a great place for sand and mud to hang out.

Japs loved their foam sound insulators,
If you need a sender go Amayama, I got one for my bj74, $140 cheaper via Amayama compared locally
I need to come for drive Billy and check out your work up close, it's bloody awesome

I finally got my EPC CD last week and you were right, it makes it so much easier to have a diagram with the part number.
I used it for the first time to order the remainder of the flare clips and front molded mud guards yesterday from Amayama. HEAPS cheaper!
I had a problem with my last order of "genuine" gaskets and seals and ended up giving some non genuine parts back because he could not prove country of origin so the CD was over due.
Let me know next time your down:beer:

Cleaned the motor down with some degreaser, detergent and a stiff brush. Then went back over it with some solvents and some fine paper.

Then painted the block with some standard industrial enamel paint and around the manifold area with some high heat black paint.

So I got my gaskets and seals last week from a internet store and had problems with some genuine gaskets and proving country of origin for a few seals so I gave some of the products back and used one of my local suppliers I trust for some quality non genuine seals so I could keep moving.
I also replaced as many bolts as I could.

I noticed the aluminium was going grey again after I cleaned it so I painted the aluminium with a silver base coat then put a clear 2pak over the top to seal it.

Hey, are those Gates fan belts metric? I suppose being in Aus they are. In Canada the Gates belts are slightly narrower
than Toyota factory, even though they are direct replacements. Just curious cause I thought Gates was US?
I ended up returning them for Toyota belts, made a difference to me, just felt more confident with the fit.

They're labelled in imperial and metric.
I don't know what the max width of the genuine sizes are but these ones measured;
17.15mm x 1 off
15.15mm x 1 off
12.30mm x 2 off

I will be getting a spare set for my expedition kit so I'll make that set genuine and compare.

Put the rest of the painted brackets, housings and gaskets on.

Everything that needs to be done before the body goes on has been done so my plan is to get him to the spraybooth as soon as I can.
The mechanics can wait now till he comes back, that way I can do 2 or 3 things at the same time.
Put the body rubbers in and bolted the body to the chassis for hopefully the last time, then started swinging doors.

Couple of skirts and hinges to clean up and I will fit the bonnet, I managed to order the door seals and the windscreen frame and pillar seals, but it will all have to wait as I'm away for a few weeks. My snorkel should turn up Friday so I can fit the flare brackets and snorkel when I get back.
Ken came out today and checked my prep work and organised the timing for our final rub down and booth time.
