That sucks Mike. Do you rev match it on down shifts or use the clutch? I bet the breakage was caused from the bearing going out creating slop in the shaft, but I'm no expert with transmissions.
I typically use the clutch. I suspect the pilot bearing was the cause. I remember a couple of years ago it was a concern because I could have sworn that if I listened carefully I could kinda hear it. But since the 4bt was so loud I figured it was just paranoia. Will know more over the weekend.
I stopped by the Dodge dealership for the recommended gear oil. $22 a quart out the door with military discount, freaking monopolies. I think I'm just gonna go full retard, rebuild the tranny, replace the clutch possibly with a ceramic and the rear mean seal, motor mounts and replace the transfer case oil because I'm already in there. So question is what is everyone using for their transfer case oil?
Here's the "SPECIAL" gear oil
Newer vs old input shaft
Rehooked up the methanol injection pump and I'm getting 30psi way too easily.
I decided I'm adding a second turbo once I get back from deployment.
Might as well rebuild while its out, especially if you have the means and know how to do it. Beats getting stuck somewhere if that metal from the input shaft decides to grenade your gearbox in the boonies.

The tranny is back and fixed, but in the spirit of "while I'm in there" I decided to upgrade the freeze plugs in preparation for next year's twin turbo set up, special thanks to @boots4 for doing the research on this and letting us know.
Transmission, clutch, transfer case, freeze plugs, motor mounts and new fuze box all back in with no real issues other than it took longer than I like. The clutch is a heavy duty 13 in clutch but the pedal feels like it's from my VW, softer than I'm used to on Big Red. The transfer case has new synthetic oil and the gerabox is rebuilt with new Dodge recommended oils as well.
The new motor mount are filled wih liquid and are less rigid than the old ones that tore. Apparently there are only two freeze plugs on my 4bt, one on the side and one in the rear. Happy to say there are no more oil leaks except for the seeping of the steering gearbox and the occasional drop from the blow by tube.
Here the is the torn old motor mount
New Motor mount.
and the new fuze box. It says it's marine grade, but clearly you can see it's not water proof.
My next big project is the compound turbo then maybe a paint job. But that's after i come back from deployment.
