John, if you base all of your purchase decisions on what companies have the highest sales numbers, then I'm afraid you're missing out on some very good, albeit lesser known items.

Just because a company has a good marketing campaign and a solid product that has been around for DECADES, doesn't make them the best thing out there. BFG's are a good product, and their sales are a reflection of many years of marketing and building a huge customer base. That doesn't mean that simply because BFG sells alot of AT/KO's that there aren't better alternatives out there for certain applications.

By your logic, the Bugatti Veyron must suck donkey balls because they only sell 50 a year...

Anyway...I guess since the OP already decided against the BFG's then we can keep the pissing contest going until the thread gets locked. :D

So I guess we can say that Slee, IPOR, ACC, MetalTech must really suck, and produce cheap products.

I mean let's face it. 4Wheel Parts has the highest numbers right? And they would come first on a list #-Z right ? 4wheel parts is AWESOME. I order so much stuff there, they even have windshield banners for free. Now THAT'S customer service. They give you one every time you buy something. I have like 50 on my windshield.

Buy the tires "you" like the most. No matter who you ask, their's are the best. The only thing established here is "there is no best tire for everyone". Only the best tire for yourself. End!

99.9% of people on 'mud can grasp that concept. There are a few, however, who truly believe that the sky is green and will defend their point relentlessly even in the face of facts that prove them wrong.

those are the ones that ruin a good discussion for us all. seriously stop talking. You have a following of people who have never met you in person, with the only commonality being the love of a great truck who sincerely dislike you; sincerely. STOP TALKING.

To the op. Are you sure you don't want to go MT, there are a lot of long mileage MTs out there these day. There are a lot of high quality radials that are a long way from a bias ply bogger with a super soft compound. If that is your limiting factor, you really have options, especially when you look at a super aggressive at like the DT, or even some solid highway running MTs.

High mileage Mts's? What are some an theyre avg miles gotten gotten out of a set. Comparable to NTG's mileage, and are they wore that much more in the slick stuff for the price an mile difference?

Really, still going? Come on Trunk, put this horse down for good please.

I was way off. I called 87 posts for this one. 131 and not dead yet.

c'mon horsey! get up!

:deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse:

Now this is just becoming a post count thread.

Any time, Trunk....before he has a chance to retort. :D

Lock this baby up and if possible move everything past post 26 to chat.

I was going to post my opinion and proclaim the undoubted superiority of the Revo 2 for all drivers in all conditions but this thread is unworthy. I'll wait for the next tire thread.

My Nitto Trail Grapplers....5 tire rotation every 4k miles...have 23k miles on them and are still over 50% tread remaining. It is a low end, less than premium, second tier, and lower quality tire........so your mileage may differ. :flipoff2:

It is when I click on it. When looking at the link, it also appears that the heading of the window is "Best Rated Tires from Consumer Reports", but the list that you posted is titled "Major brand names in the catagory". Off of that list, you left out the following two items:

  • Uniroyal
  • AND MANY MORE

Doesn't really make BFG the definitive winner of....well....anything now does it.

Shots has not read the consumer reports review, if he had he would now the BFG A/T has never been tested by them.

My Destination MTs. Got 50k miles on the last 2 sets, rotated, balanced and aligned every5 k miles. I have had my current set for a year and a half with 20 k miles and have about 75% of the tread. My last two sets were on a build GMC Yukon. The wear seems to be even better on the 100!

Details, details.

Exactly. The BFgoodrich A/T tires might be good for certain people who wheel and don't use their trucks as daily drivers or for people who live out west where it doesn't rain. BFgoodrich A/Ts don't have any straight channels to push water away making them terrible in heavy rain. The newer tires that are a cross between an A/T and a street tire perform head and shoulders better in 90% of the conditions I face versus a 20 year old designed tire that is designed more for off road than the street.

Just buy the tire that fits your needs and don't be afraid to experiment a little. I've always liked a little variety. :D
