How is your rig setup, and how/where are you going to drive it?

At $90-$110 you might be able to afford half of one cheap shock, or one full really cheap shock.

I mean, I'm happy with the Icon 2.0 on my front, but even those were over $500cad for a pair.

They are cheap "performance" shocks. I was looking at like $170 each in Canada for the Fox ones, might be like $125 in the US. OMEs were like $180 each or so here.

As far as i know, your price range puts you in oem replacement territory.

Just Google "Fox 80 Series Shocks" the Fox website shows parts numbers for either lift, front and rear.

Thank you very much. I'll start saving up for the fox shocks.

Radflos work well really well, I have radflos resovoirs on my fzj but if the time ever comes Im going with slee or kings(very expensive) expensive is kind of the deal with good shocks Im noticing

bilstein 4600's are about 100 each no? dont remember what i paid. maybe they were 125.......

edit: 80 for the rears, 100 for the fronts

I love my Tough Dog 41mm foam cell shocks. They are very reasonable.

Contact @reevesci. He is the distributor here in the States. And a stand up human being.

Shocks are not magic devices - they ostensibly have mechanical behaviors that can be modeled and measured. Best shock? One you can tune.

Tough dog are the best selling 4x4 shock in Australia, they are also the most heavily marketed.
They would be far from my first choice, they would not even make my short list, unless they have improved a lot in the last few years

I've literally run just about everything on my 80s over the past 25 years. Bilstein, OME, Fox, Rancho, OEM. Never have run Kings...

The Tough Dog foam cell have been the best I have run.

I stand by my statement.

@LS1FJ40 I'm glad you have had a good result.

they went through a period where they were having a lot of basic material and fabrication failures, lack lustre performance, and longevity issues that suggested poor quality control.

Maybe they have moved past this?

man people "must have" them because they are "the best" as promoted in some popular 4x4 magazines, and 4x4 TV over here that are barely better than advertorial and infommercial pieces. My brother inlaw is a classic example, if its advertised in the mags, or in the ARB catalogue, its got to be the best, hang the cost.
