These I think are the best battery terminals I’ve ever used. Steel, don’t bend or corrode

Another vote for Northstars, I have two North Star 34M AGM batteries (stock parallel fitting) in my BJ60, and after 4 1/2 years they still test (with a pulsetech 490PT+) at virtually full capacity. Although they are not post indexed for left or right application, the M (marine) battery has brass SAE posts, and also midline stud terminals. This allowed me to remove the old stretched lead Toyota battery post connectors off the stock cables, and replace them with heavy crimp on eyelets for very positive mounting on the studs. This leaves the SAE posts free for additional connections or jump starting less fortunate vehicles....
North Star seems to be the only battery on the market made with pure (non-recycled) lead and is made in the USA, not offshore. Super quality, but at a price.

I'm a cheap battery guy, because all batteries will fail in time. It isn't magic.
The East Penn (Duracell brand) from Batteriesplus is a very good battery and not too much $$-Roughly $125
The Costco group 27s are a good choice too, roughly $100.
The very best thing to do, it keep the batteries always on a tender when not in use. The BatteryMinder tenders are great. And as an example, I just had a Costco group 27 go bad. It was 7 years old-build date 2/2012. Not too shabby. But this is typical service if you use a tender of some type, and periodically top off the cells with distilled water.
I have a lot of batteries in service-All my trucks have 2, and my wife's car has another. All are on the tender every day. The key to long battery life is the constant charge of a tender.
I've tried some of the more expensive AGM batteries and did not get enough extra service, to justify twice the price.

Thx, Which BatteryMinder Tender do you recommend?
Lately Costco doesn’t carry any battery more than 25 years old so they have to cross reference and cross reference and that they had higher cranking amps but no longevity

Since 78 FJ40 and 1984 Toyota SR5 4x4 both came new with Yuasa batteries I wouldn't be surprised if Toyota's batteries were made by them. Come to think of it. My '81 GS1000, '86 Ninja also came with Yuasa batteries
