Original poster here. I ended up going with Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 265/65/R17 mounted on TRD rims. For winter driving, they have been amazing so far. No noticeable noise hit on the highway and they handle snowy hills with aplomb. I also picked up a Gamiviti rack (and had Tim help me install it). Awesome product and great guy. I’ll post an update in the summer after I’ve gotten out on some Western Slope trails. PS - if anyone between Denver and SLC is looking for brand new stock wheels and tires for their GX for a great price, I’d be able to deliver. LMK

Rack, wheel, and tire twins!

While I don't have the Gamiviti rack I do have the Gamiviti dashboard accessory mount. Was a bit hesitant to spend that much money on it but once I had it in my hands knew why it cost what it did. Heavy, solid and it reeks of quality. Very impressed and had a feeling Tim was "that" type of guy.

Does that mean we can be triplets?! 🍻

265/70R17 Rubitreks on 8.5" wide rims fit with a Lexus Class IV under my GX but only with KDSS spacers. The 7" rims would make the tread a bit more rounded than the 8.5" which might affect fit slightly, but I don't know if it'd make it easier or harder.

Most people report that 265/70R17s fit the spare well just fine. Rubitrek and Wildpeaks run on the large side for 265/70R17s

how has your mpg fared since the bumper cut?

No change at all still the same as before. Put sliders on not long after that and still no change.

Running 75 miles each way every weekend over the winter on the same route was a good benchmark with a baseline at the beginning. I feel very comfortable saying that the bumper cut did not effect the mpg at all.

What I have noticed after watching mpg is that wind and traffic have the most impact on my gas mileage. Neither of which I have control over so I'm back to just feeding the beast and not worrying about it. But at least I know that the changes I've made have not hurt it.

I have been running the Falken Wildpeak AT4W for a few months now, and I have been very pleased.

I daily drive my GX, about 50 miles a day round trip on my commute. All highway and suburb roads. There is a very slight hum compared to the whisper quiet Michelin Defender LTX highway tires, but it isn’t noticeable unless I have all music/podcasts turned off.

I have taken them off-road a few times. They have done very, very well on rock (Hidden Falls in central Texas) and wet/clay (Northwest OHV).

Overall, I am super happy with the purchase. Would recommend.

Is that just an old phone you use, or is that your main phone?

I am wanting to do this on another car and was wondering if I could use an old phone for it. Also, what software (there are lots of different ones) and does it do electric cars (battery stuff)? I know you might not be able to answer that, but lemme know your thoughts.

I use an old Samsung Galaxy Note 10 with the app. It's always plugged in cause the battery is shot, and have it mounted to my binnacle, so it's as natural as looking at my other gauges.

Unlocked new phone picked up during Cyber Monday for $100. You don't need a SIM card they get in the way, just bluetooth. My old cell phone batteries are shot and you don't want to run them cold when it is below zero, which unfortunately it is much of the year here.

Hard to get a small android tablet anymore phones are disposable and serve the same function, at a cheap price.

I don't have cell phone reception much of time so still run a Garmin, in addition to a cell phone. And the unlocked phone as a gauge board. I use a Gamiviti plate that replaces the front speaker grill and it is solid as a rock. Older picture, after years finally got rid of the Ram X grip mounts and now have magnetic peak design mounts. But still use the Ram arms of course

Fusion is totally customizable and I don't run the dial gauges anymore, I've finally come around to digital LOL ;)

You brought up a great point that I've failed to mention. When using an old phone as a dedicated dash display, you don't need a SIM card or register at all, it's just Bluetooth to the OBDII dongle. The only thing you need is to keep it plugged in for power.
