got my plate horn contact pin which i believe is the part i need to get my horn working again. its a little piece of metal (brass?) that contacts a ring on the steering coulum so you can get power to the horn buttons without tangling the wire and all that. for those who need it the part number is 84312-20011 so you dont have to take apart your steering wheel in the toyota dealership parking lot...ask me how much fun that is.

i also got some of those little plastic gromets for the front headlight assembly to screw it down and those parts numbers are 90189-05013

got my replacement halogen bulbs installed today and now i wont get pulled over for missing headlights.

also ordered some tail light covers from specter (georg they were cheaper and i figure im gonna break them again sometime) the plastic is really brittle and cheap so take Georgs advice to me "buy them from the dealership" unless you think you are gonna crack the covers again in the near future like me. i almost cracked the covers just screwing them on...but i got the pair for 20 bucks on sale at SOR.com

thats all the updates for now.

you have lots of space! have you thought about doing a dabble battery's ?

and once I get the cash and all the parts I am going to be doing :) Hello 350 or 360 ;)

There is a rubber pass through on each side of the firewall that you can use to feed wires through. They, are on the top right and left corners of the firewall.

Can you PLEASE get a better camera??? I have bad eyes!!!!! Id like to see that big V8 powa better.

already got dual batteries hooked up for my winch and if i kill my starter battery :) i heard a rumor you can fit a 454 in a 60 series

ya the only problem is im hooked that horn to a CB off an amp and have to route a wire from the CB to the center console across to the drivers side from the middle to the engine compartment above the steering box. with the V8 swap my computer is running about 12 million wires through that pass through and i have to remove my dash to run em :frown::mad: i ran out of time the other day and since im going back to quincy i need the car mostly running :D

nope haha you get ipod pics fo-eva!!!! i got bad eyes too, thats why i got prescription oakleys! ill see if i can borrow my buddies camera back home.

I am picking up that brush giard today. it came off an 80 series and is in really good condition for $125 bucks so im pretty excited!!!

ah finally home in Quincy. took 10 hours, 319 miles and 2 CA-NV state line crossings.
it was icy the minute i got into the mtns all the way through nevada and back to CA and Quincy. that would have sucked on my old tires... anyway stopped by Valley hybrids because it was on the way, its always cool to see a bunch of 60 series wagons parked outside together. got some pics of them too. anyway, heres the map of my route if anyone cares lol. I got the brush guard from the seller in south lake tahoe and its pretty much brand new and will be a cool addition to the cruiser once i figure out a way to mount it since its for an 80 series

ok, so over the past few day, got an FJ80 brush guard awkwardly on my cruiser which apparently makes me look like the sherriffs arounnd here at night when im following someone...

my dome light died on me and i have a fire extinguisher on the way in case all my road flares spontaneously combust in the back

fir extinguisher arrived, its getting mounted tomorrow along with the rewiring of my offroad lights, i have my transmission wiring harness and it is also getting installed tomorrow. should be done fairly quick. im also running my Amp and PA horn tomorrow if all goes well. prob not too many pics til after its done since its cold and dont have time to waste in the cold and short amount of daylight available.

sounds good bud!!!

not a half bad day, got the transmission drained, put in the new electrical lockup solenoid and refilled the pan with a new filter and gasket. she shifts like a champ now and is one step closer to regaining fuel efficiency. finishing up the job tomorrow with the rest of the wiringg and then putting my gauge cluster back in since ive been driving it with just after market temp gauges and now speedo etc. lol/ used RTV to seal my floorboards and then topped off my PS pump with fluid. finished it up for now, offroad lights are still on the queue afterwards. now that im closer to finishing the important stuff, im looking into other items namely, Lock-rite locker and twinsticks from georg.

got my CB PA hooked up with an amp run to a train speaker. D*** ITS LOUD!!! :D

last few parts to my TCC lockup need to be installed, just need to find a place to hookup the vaccum line to the manifold. should be decently easy. another big thanks to georg at Valley Hybrids for the wiring harness advice and help via PM etc.

Ladies, Gentlemen, I am Proud to announce that Bessie is 1 project away from being in perfect Mechanical shape and i am feeling the excitement of almost purchasing frivolous offroad stuff that i dont need!!!

:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2::bounce:

TCC lockup is complete, new trans fluid, offroad lights are working again and the last set of projects that need to be fixed are a new Harmonic Balancer, Bearings and Front oil seal. after that i have a throttle body rebuild kit so sometime down the line i can get a little more efficiency out of her when i have the time to take her apart :)

that is all, thank you for your time!

so far with all the work i have done and have learned from georg and some other friends, i think i went from a  mechanic to a solid :banana::banana: mechanic :hillbilly:

Go big

Why stop at a 454 when you can have a 572 cid.:D

Ok fine lets get real here, how about a first gen. ZR1 engine i'm sure Georg could work on it.:D
1993_chevrolet_corvette_2_dr_zr1_hatchback-pic-39422.jpeg

mmmmmmmmm...no. what would i do with that engine that i cant now? :D

in other news went to pick and pull and had fun destroying cars for 5 hours and finding neat things for old bessie. i was disappointed im that there were only 8 or so toyota truck/4runners on the lot. stole some TBI parts of some chevys and other odds and ends like dash bulbs a spare Aisin hub just in case and a small skid plate
