Eric,

I have stayed at the Best Western and the Seasons Inn in Blairsville. They are both VERY close to the trails, and the Seasons-Inn is in town square so there are restaurants and shops nearby...they run $70/night (they will take pets for $10 a night extra).

They won't reserve blocks or give special rates since they are only 25 rooms :).

The Best Western is the other option...I believe that is the $79 rate per night. I am sure we can work out a block of rooms at this place. I called and if we get 10 rooms the rate drops to $71.10.

So just so I am clear, most people don't camp for this event? I was really looking forward to some camping. This might have to change my whole game plan ad turn this into a day trip.

I am camping, given the smaller campsite size and proximity to town some inquired about hotels.

Why don't we pull a GSMTR and stay at a camp site near the trail so we can all have a big group hug!

Just my $0.02

There are no camp sites near the trail...just the camp site in the trail system.

Here is the deal...if you are registered and want to camp, the campground at Beasley has enough to hold everyone. If you want to drive somewhere else to camp, that is your decision. Keep in mind that this is an organized event and as such people usually stay where the event is.

You will miss out on the central camp, the nightly fire, etc if you go elsewhere. This has been discussed by the event committee over the past several months, and some of these suggestions were examined as the main campsite...and dismissed. We (the committee) felt that the campsite at Beasley was easiest to organize as we wouldn't have to leave dirt to have the event.

Sylvain, do you really think that we didn't consider this? Come on now :)

We are gonna have to have a talk! :) (woohoo, I got to use that line!)

Good to hear. This is what I was hoping for. Now if I can just get an official hall pass from the :princess:, I will register and plan to camp.

My fault peeps... I'm responsible for the whole camping scare. I know I know... believe only half of what you see and nothing of what you hear....

So I'm paid up too... can't wait! won't have locker in the front by then though:frown:

shouldn't need it.

I want to come. I was planning to come. My factory has scheduled a mandatory work day for that Saturday, so I haven't registered.

If they do a last minute cancellation (which sometimes happens, supplier issues being what they are), I'm coming anyway.

I really wanted an opportunity to grenade my rear diff in the presence of the experts. And check out Beasleys and the heretofore unseen Ga Cruisers and support the club which has supported mine so often.

Hope I get there. Ommmm Cruiser Cruiser.

Any directions or GPS coords to the campground? I'll be headed to Blairsville up 129 North. Thanks much.

Nevermind, just got the info packet :)

Yeah, I thought that was you when I saw the registration this morning. Let me know if you need anything else.

Lol and I'm gonna have to have a talk with you for having a talk with him.

I'm in and registered. 80% committed. Will try to convince more to come. We shall see.

Driving the 80. So I'm gonna have to either be the camp maid or I'll have to hitch a ride with someone. Planning on coming early sat morning or late friday night. If ya'll need me to bring anything let me know.
