Fuel filter and pumped installed (with a tiny peak at my new airbags)

New crossmember mount welded on + an FJ62 crossmember

Upward look at the drivetrain

Installing the linkage for the Lokar shifter

Airbags! There isn't a lot of info, write ups, or folks installing airbags on their FJ60's so hopefully these images will help anyone looking into installing some. Tor got a set of AIRoverLeaf's (part #19003004) from Ridetech and the Inflation Kit (part #32000002) with schrader valves on the bumper for filling up

I've been nearly maxing out my ARB Heavy (heaviest) set of leaf springs for 10+ months when I'm fully loaded in expedition mode so I'm def looking forward to my truck sitting level! Tor setup the airbags so even at maximum droop the airbag's aren't over stretched

Schrader valves installed underneath on my 4x4 Labs bumper

Cap off

Looking up

man I need to swing by Tor's early next week...this is coming along nice. Theron, you'll love the shifter. I was Tor's guinea pig on the champion radiator, great call on that one too. Assuming you're going with a trans cooler as well, right?

Yeah! You def should check it out, they are doing an amazing job. I'll be using a Derale 13504 transmission cooler, do you have the same?

Yep on the cooler. Can't beat the work Tor does. Wish i had everything finished on my rig to drive it up early next week (work life has SUCKED the past few months). Love the airbags, going to live with mine for a while, but I could see the need to do this.

Wait until you get to take the first drive in it...you're not going to believe it.

Nice Cruiser! I especially like the very first pic with the deer poking it's head out the window. That one I would blow up and frame.

Very nice conversion, in particular the engine mounts. Don't know how many swaps I have seen that use the ultra junkie AA mounts. What your guy built is 100x better.

I didn't read the whole thread. Not sure on what air bags you picked but they look like Airlifts. Dump those the first chance you get. Worst air bag out there in my opinion. I had Airlifts in my 04 Tacoma, drove it to Panama and back. Your air bags look exactly like the ones I had in my Taco. The plastic piece (looks to be at the bottom of your airbag) will break and create sharp edges. This will put holes in the bag when it flexes. It may take some time to break but it will break and there will be plastic knives there to pop the air bag. Mine was fine until loaded to the hilt and headed through Baja, rough roads and it was toasted. I kept putting tire plugs in the bags to keep them going but in the end they just plain sucked badly. I even had a spare set shipped down south while traveling, same problem. Got home, put in Firestone air bags with a new and improved custom mounting system. Not a single issue after that. Including a 2nd trip to Panama. I also think that is an odd place for the airbag. And that is the exact same place my first set were mounted which I believe exaggerates the problem.

Fixing the air bags in Baja....

And the much improved Firestones.....

And the Airlifts next to Firestones, yes that is grass used as a plug. I had ran out of plugs after about 20 put in the bags. Never put one in my tires but lot's in the bags! If you look closely you can see where the plastic broke, top of the bag in these pictures. While on the road I removed the bags and tried to cut down the sharp edges and make them smooth. Hence why the plastic piece is butchered.

Now maybe I am way off base and if so I apologize for going off in your thread. But those sure look like Airlifts and I would throw those in the garbage!

Also, have you weighed the truck? Front and rear? if so how heavy is it? It looks to be every bit of 7,000lbs.

Cheers
