Yep. This happened! Captured on my garage cam!

Happy to say I was wearing brown shorts when my neighbor knocked on my door saying a backhoe crashed into my rig. Happier to say, I didn't need the brown shorts.

The bozos drove off after hitting the rig, my neighbor (I love my hood) ran them down and told them to come back. The operator was cool, offered to buy me a new "one," I told him he owes me a six pack instead!

No damage to the rig, only a wee dent to the ARB, it definitely has paid for itself!

Unreal. You KNOW he felt the "bump"...and drove off anyway. Not cool.

Glad it had a happy ending.

WTF!!!

I would be finding the name of the company and emailing a clip on that video to the owner and ask what their response is. Have them contact the insurance company, buy you a NEW ARB and sell ME the old one.........

Or, you can just have the new one shipped to me.........

By the way your rig rolled under that force, I am less worried about your bumper than I am about your transmission.

It was a city worker, I have his biz card, hello Fernando Montoya...and I sent it to the city :flipoff2: At the end of the day, it's a small town, don't need to make waves.
I wanted them to know I was more pissed the  just drove away.

Yeah, I was too. I didn't notice anything. I put it an outta park, went through all the gears on the highway. Reversed... All seemed normal. P-Brake was not on.
Anything I should look for?

Maybe the city should buy me a new "one" just to be safe!

Just remember, I got first dibs on the "old one"! ;)

I love my Slee Short Bus bumper, but it would not have protected my rig at all from that hit.
That is an objective and specific data point which demonstrates that the ARB provides greater protection in some specific situations.
+1 for the ARB.

What he said about the Slee Shortbus not protecting... . What I remember about the parking brake pawl, it is tapered and with enough force it will pop out of its notch and land in the next one. Worst case, which didn't happen, the parking brake pawl will snap in half?

Ok the flip side, being that he was stopping and those balloon tires, the operator probably didn't notice. A spotter would have noticed it...

Yeah. Yeah. You've got dibs. Just send me a self addressed stamped envelope in advance.
