What are my options to fix wallowed out holes in these spring perches?

Looks like Ruff Stuff Specialties sells new perches. Is it best to just cut these off and weld on replacements? Thanks.

Bushings are used to enlarge the spring pin to fit factory spring perch holes when using certain after market springs. Clean the spring perch holes with a drill bit if needed and install bushings to fit the pins.

i would imagine instead of cutting off the perch you could ream it out to a larger diameter and make your own bushing with inner diameter the same as the spring center pin and outter diameter the same as what you reamed it to. just find a steel tube with these dimensions and cut a little “slice” off. it just needs to fill the hole. the i bolts being tight is most important

Another option would find a small piece of DOM tube to make a spacer with, it would need to have an ID similar to the OD of the spring pin. Then open up your current holes to the OD of the spacer. That is how it is handled regularly on the late model 6x's

Thanks Kurt. The spacer isn't attached to the perch or center pin in any way? Will it not pop out of the perch over time?

I machined out my elongated perch shackle pin holes and installed hardened drill bushing that seemed to work fine. Also keep your ubolts tight, like real tight and you will be solid again.

Got a picture?

Here’s a pic of my repaired hole. I would suggest a little longer bushing, these were .500 long, so maybe .750 long and then they would stop at the axle OD.

I think the dom tube spacer sit on the axle tube

OK. I was thinking it was just a sliver of tube the same thickness as the perch.

We are talking about a short section of tube that would be the same length as the distance from the axle tube to the perch, plus the perch thickness. Then it can't fall out.
