TANK UPDATE :bounce::bounce2:

The test tank is in hand, waiting to get Cole's truck up to Stockton. Looks good so far, just need to confirm we have the charcoal canister issue addressed. With that, we will send final mods to Melbourne for production.

Even though the kit isn't quite "baked" yet, we will honor the $100 discount under our current Black Friday Sale. Also good for brakes, elockers, etc. if you have the need.

Just send an email to info@cruiserbrothers.com with contact info to confirm interest.

Thanks!

Nice! I know it's early but any word on if you're looking to notch the tank for the canister or just relocate?
Hey Tony - The plan is to notch the tank to eliminate relocation. Will give up a gallon or two, but much better solution all around.

Your thoughts?

I'm for it! Those of us with rear bumpers, the potential relocation areas are limited even more than the stock plastic bumpers due to the bracing on some designs.

Another thing is, the canister might be susceptible to damage/cracking easily. This might be why some of are having issues. I think @Canyonero had this issue in another rig? @Atwalz has a new (used) canister on the way to see if that'll fix his issue. So having it behind a tank would keep rocks from knocking the plastic canister.

Another, plus is the potential warranty issues. Fiddling with emissions equipment might cause warranty problems for those with new rigs.

A couple gallons of lost capacity is more than worth it to me, personally. Even if it works out to a 20 gallon tank, that's nearly double the range.

Now for the smaller rank that retains the spare, I don't know. Maybe look at spacing the tank lower instead of losing capacity.

Thanks, Tony. Ya, the protection of the canister, plus simplicity / speed of install were factors. We feel the pain of folks that have installed these and dealt with the issues. As noted in the original posts, we only wanted to do this if we could improve the product and the results. Our partners in Melbourne are friggin' awesome - daily contact and communications. We are headed back over for meetings, planning, training, some videos and some beef.... :)

My thought is that is a great trade off. Does that mean instead of the 24 Gal I would get a 22 Gal?

Thanks for doing this

Ken

What I meant to say "thank you and we are working on it" - some progress....

Test tanks for 200 and GX 470 are in Stockton as shown below, waiting for fitment. Holiday kind of buggered up the schedule, but we are working on getting the rigs into the shop.

I'm taking my truck to see Georg and Dominic at Valley Hybrids this Friday for the first test fitting of the LRA prototype. Keep your fingers crossed.
....fingers, toes, legs, eyes.....everything is crossed, Cole! Sorry I missed you this time :)

@wardharris Q fer ya...

The vote counter up top implies the only choices for the 200 will be 16 or 45. Is there going to be a 24-ish version? Or is it just 16 $ 45?

Edit: Just found the photos of the 45, so I zapped my question about how low it hangs...but when possible, would love to see a side shot at lower-tank height of the 45 to better judge departure... If the hang isn't bad, then the 45 would be awesome. If the weight bugs people around town...just don't fill it! Would to jump to a 600 or 700 mile highway range if it isn't dragging booty on rocks.

PS. No complaints here, as I think it is incredibly AWESOME that you have taken on what so many of us have WISHED for! Thank you! And whatever the answer, I hope to end up with SOMETHING from this. Just curious if a 24-ish is still possible.

I read this entire thread and saw several mentions of the 4Runner (5th Gen)
How close is this to a reality? What are my options here?

I've been looking for an Aux Fuel tank for my 2011 4runner for about 6 years......
