The mechanic who rebuilt my engine has one. Currently awaiting its own engine rebuild. Only 150 made I think. I wonder if that makes them much more valuable? Pretty sure the paint and white everything is the only difference to being a white lightning...correct me if im wrong anyone

Wow considering their value I'm surprised someone would aftermarket anything on one.

I don't think they're GXL either from my bad memory they're just GX which is a bit weird, so if I'm correct they're inferior to the 12ht GXL but worth twice as much.

Yeah mine is only a GX.
I think the extras that come with it are:
PIAA Driving Lights
Snorkel
LSD
Momo Steering Wheel & Gear Knob
Air Con
Bullbar
All white trimming (flares & bullbar) with gray interior

Still dont see how the gx is inferior to gxl. They have the same power trimmings as gxl. Same engine options, I think everything over a G came standard with ac. Not so sure about the snorkel. My mechanics is stock as a rock and no snorkel

I think the GXL had dual region A/C and sunroof, Some came out with lockers

Then iv got the poorest gxl ever.
No rear ac no sunroof no lockers. I think your thinking more towards vx/sahara

Alot of the GXL ones I have seen around were Sahara

That poses an interesting question then what is the difference between GXL & GX?
Is GX solenoid activated 4WD?
How about central locking?

All 60's are LSD as far as I've seen and the G pack was optional AC where the GXL was standard.

The dual AC etc was definitely sahara.

So far I can't see any advantage to the white lightning......but I still want one!

Yeah once I get the battery tomorrow and if and when i get it back on the street and cleaned up, but only from the passengers side, the rust is in the drivers side!

Another west Aussie. Mine is a jap import 1988 vx hj61. 24 volt,5 speed,factory cable lockers,sunroof all the usual electrics with sunroof and pto winch that works just put the synthetic rope on this weekend.

Thanks guys yeah picked the rims up a month ago off gumtree guy wanted carton of beer for the whole set,got to love the eighties. We have some top looking sixties on here good stuff.
