200 Series Arctic Truck

Great work on the Rig! We now have parts to build the 200 Series into Arctic Style configuration.
Great to see someone doing it down in Australia!

I don't mean to be a negative nancy, but have the standards for what qualifies as an arctic truck dropped? Because when I first read about them tires of 42 inches were common.

35s... It's pretty much considered 'small' in Australian off roading, and frankly can be slapped on pretty much any older solid axle 4wd with great ease.

oy mcmanus your harsh!! I will let you to aussies duck it out; now I lived in sydney for 3 years and spent 1 year rotating in melbourne and brisbane and just a little time in perth. the RTA is ruff you dont see landcruiser's on 42s riding down the street everyday. the work he did on his 200 is top notch. besides even the iceland guys use 35 for summer and go to 42 for winter only.

42's would be sweet! But I'm not ready to turn a 100K truck into an offroad only toy:crybaby: The NCOP in Australia will soon rule out even 35's (mine is covered). Arctic Truck also only do 35-37's on 200's, you won't/can't go bigger (check their site and a 200 up close) it's not solid axle all round, and you need to consider Electronic aids etc, yes you can put any size on a tractor :bang: .

Each vehicle has it's limits, I think for all round ability and to move this truck from just a shopping trolley to the upper end of it's design/ability (keeping some margin), this is IMO, the best fit.

Myself and Arctic Truck (inc Fjallasport) could be wrong, so when you throw some 42's on a 200 (legal or not), I'll delete this post and hang my head in shame:lol::lol:

No issue with your view, even some merit, just a tad general though!

Quite funny - i was following your cruiser in perth when i was last there on business about a month ago. It looks excellent - was wondering what flares they were and now i know :-). Well done on a great looking 200, its definitely the best i've seen to date.

Turning LX570 Into Arctic Truck

You are right about the many aspects that have to be considered when lifting this vehicle. We are currently preparing to do the LX570 version of the LC200. It has active suspension. We have fabricate special mounts and components to keep the sensors operating correctly. Simply cutting the LC200 apart to put big tires isn't going to help you. To have the vehicle function properly, you need to do it right. As time goes on we will see more components manufactured to allow you to modify it to a higher degree. We hope to be part of that when it comes. Until then, 35" Tires seems to be the ticket. For Now:) After all, there was a day they said you couldn't put 44" on a 80... not only are there 80's on 44" but now 100's on 42's :) Someday there will be 200's on big tires!

Will look forward to it, I think 37's would look almost perfect for balance and bigger for some extreme work. Diff drop needs to be the next mod to make this happen though. Have you guys started to look at this yet??

Looks good! I used to love the fender flare look but mine look like s*** haha

Differential drop for 200 Series

Yes we have been thinking about it. Since we already have solutions for the 80/100, It would be a natural progression to offer some more Extreme options for those wanting to use LC200's for more utility use. As we see government agencies buying newer cruisers for their own special applications, there will be more demand for these parts. Also, there is usually a couple year lag before used cruisers come off lease and fall into the hands of off road enthusiasts. Now that the LC200 has been out for 4 years, the time is now:)
Keep in touch and we can keep you updated on progression. Of course the more interest we get in larger lift solutions, the more time we will invest.

A couple of additions added to my rig of late.

Diff Drop, as also discussed previously in this thread and as below:

Added Rear Drawers and Barrier (Black Widow)

Fitted EGT Probe/Gauge (pre Turbo) with buzzer alarm, Scan Gauge 11 and Brake Controller. The Scan gauge helps correct for speeds and trip computer info etc that were slightly out due to the 35's (could have lived with it, but like all the additional info I can now see also).

Getting it set up for a big outback trip next year:steer:, what do do next:confused:

hello nobrks any info on the front bumper bar set up with the winch?? I want to add a winch but do not want to switch out the whole front bumper. thanks

I am about to put the same flare kit, through a custom car builder here in Sydney
We going to try and put 37" wheels on in the process, or fall back to 35" if its to much hastle.
I was inspired by this car mod and by the pioneer ballsbygm

Remember: lots of pics please.

Am I understanding this correctly ... :bang:

The 200 in stock OEM form can fit 33" with no rubbing. 34's fit with slight rubbing at full lock and requires a small degree of trimming the mud flaps. Basically the 35's dont fit but can if u mod/add a wheel offset or spacer and requires mild lift (how many inches?) and requires a fender flare trim and UCAs are optional.

^ that about right?

I just love love love the look of a 200 with big tires :bounce: however I need to know how high up the seat bottom gets when it's lifted on 35's like the OP'er did. Maybe it would help to know the measurement of how high off the ground is from the seat bottom stock and with this OP'ers mods... ?

I'm looking to keep the minimum PITA affect for entry/exit for my business clients wearing suits while fitting the biggest size tire. Very very subjective, I know, but a 200 is a big investment. My 100 works well with 1" lift and 33's.

Well, its all very subjective but jm2cw: I'm a tall guy (6'3")and with 2" lift and ~33s its about as high as I can comfortably climb into without using the slee side steps. Most passengers use the steps to some degree or other I guess.
