It's looking like I will have a conflict and won't be able to make the meeting next weekend, so I will go ahead and post a brief TLCA update here.
We had our regular July phone meeting of the TLCA Board last night. It was a pretty routine meeting, but some good news to report. The budget is very slightly in the black, so we are making progress toward financial stability.
Unfortunately, we are losing our TLCA Webmaster. He was just hired in February and was doing a great job, but he has opted to take a full time engineering job in Kabul, Afghanistan. Not my first choice of a place to live, but more power to him. We will need to find a replacement for him.
One of the things that he has been working on is an on-line version of the magazine. Here's a link to a PDF version of the May/June 2009 issue. Take a look if you have the bandwidth and some memory. WARNING - it's about an 8 MB file. I wouldn't mess with it if you have dial-up.

The Administrative Vice President (AVP) job has been open since the last guy resigned, but we had a guy nominate himself last night - John Sourbeer - how's that for a great name?!? Nominations were closed and we will vote on him next month.
We had a long discussion on the TLCA raffle truck. I posted up some on this last month. Mark Algazy is donating an FJ-40 for the TLCA to build up and raffle off to raise money for TLCA. Mark and the truck is in Burbank (so. Cal.) and he is looking for someone in the area to become a project manager, contact vendors for donated parts, and coordinate the build. So far, no takers. They haven't ruled out moving the truck to another part of the country, if that's what it takes, but obviously that increases the cost and complexity of the project. We'll see how this plays out.
That's most of the highlights. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sorry I can't make the meeting. With any luck, I'll be at the September one.
