Figured I'd get this started early and ensure that the date doesn't get 'taken' by my scheduler.

August 8th @ 6:00 PM.

Home of the Ahlen family.

4445 Rancho Centro NW
Albuquerque, NM 87120

Most map services on the web do a fine job of getting you here.

All Toyota 4X4 fanatics and families are welcome.

Bring a dish to share and your own beverages.

Maybe we'll get lucky and have some new club shirts by then too.

One of these times I will make a meeting, but I'll be north in CO wheeling or on my way to wheeling on that date.

can we get the web site updated with the new meeting info? thanks!

It's looking like I will have a conflict and won't be able to make the meeting next weekend, so I will go ahead and post a brief TLCA update here.

We had our regular July phone meeting of the TLCA Board last night. It was a pretty routine meeting, but some good news to report. The budget is very slightly in the black, so we are making progress toward financial stability.

Unfortunately, we are losing our TLCA Webmaster. He was just hired in February and was doing a great job, but he has opted to take a full time engineering job in Kabul, Afghanistan. Not my first choice of a place to live, but more power to him. We will need to find a replacement for him.

One of the things that he has been working on is an on-line version of the magazine. Here's a link to a PDF version of the May/June 2009 issue. Take a look if you have the bandwidth and some memory. WARNING - it's about an 8 MB file. I wouldn't mess with it if you have dial-up.

The Administrative Vice President (AVP) job has been open since the last guy resigned, but we had a guy nominate himself last night - John Sourbeer - how's that for a great name?!? Nominations were closed and we will vote on him next month.

We had a long discussion on the TLCA raffle truck. I posted up some on this last month. Mark Algazy is donating an FJ-40 for the TLCA to build up and raffle off to raise money for TLCA. Mark and the truck is in Burbank (so. Cal.) and he is looking for someone in the area to become a project manager, contact vendors for donated parts, and coordinate the build. So far, no takers. They haven't ruled out moving the truck to another part of the country, if that's what it takes, but obviously that increases the cost and complexity of the project. We'll see how this plays out.

That's most of the highlights. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sorry I can't make the meeting. With any luck, I'll be at the September one.
Evan

still no update on the website. who is our backup web person? this needs to be done ASAP! believe it or not several people count on that site for our event info. it's also how we get new members. thanks.

Looks like I'm in - one-person tho, the better-half is on a biz trip next week. Do we need to bring some cash for the shirts, stickers?

Pretty sure we get one shirt for free if you're a paid-up HDC member. Extra shirts will still be very reasonable if I recall the figures mentioned at the last meeting.

Mark's correct. free one to members.

I forgot, Ill be in Colorado Springs for my Dad's wedding!
Im still ready to host the Sept meeting though.

Too late to work on that tonight. I'll work on it tomorrow after work.

i have Greg hosting Sept and Daisy in Oct. we don't have dates yet. Sept is Thrill on the Hill first weekend. we'll set both dates at the meeting and i'll make sure web updates happen right after.

Maybe we can put Columbus Day to Moab on it too?

Small request

I would like to ask a small favor of those who come to the meeting. I've had a parking 'rights' dispute with the neighbor to the north of me. If you can avoid parking in front of that house that would be greatly appreciated so I don't have to deal with his grumpy a$$.

I or we will be there...

I bought my daughter a '97 dark green 4runner last night. I'll bring that as I have a question on how best to "fix" a paint problem - the clear coat on the horizontal surfaces appears to be chipping off or something in little tiny chips. Advice will be solicited...

My dad and I will be there for sure. By any chance did you come across those center caps for those FJ60 rims?

No. The box I remember them being in was empty so I must have included them when I sold my 60 back in March.

Do you need fronts or rears? Might have an extra hangin about in my shed... hit me w/a pm.
