Got an "Oil level low warning" on the dash yesterday while on the trails

Had LOF done at Lexus about 2 weeks ago and noticed no issues driving it since. No leaks on the ground, etc. This was the first time the light came on.

Pulled the dipstick and it was pretty low-- bottom line at best. Admittedly was on a hill nose pointing down so that didn't help, and is probably why this whole thing happened.

This was pretty early into the day so didn't want to bail out. Didn't have any extra 0W-20 with me (won't make that mistake again) so someone gave me 5W-30 and we put in probably 1 cup worth, maybe 2 at most. No idea if it was synthetic or not.

Could go on a long research overanalysis deep dive to find out if there's any downside, but curious if the GX community thinks there's any detriment to running the oil like this until I change it next (probably in 6 months or so)

& also going to run this by the Lexus service department tomorrow as I've never gotten this warning before and they did just change the oil, so doing due diligence in covering myself for the future.

Personally I wouldn't check or service any component unless on a mostly level surface. If it is over the low mark you are in range for safe operation. If truly low...use any grade you want for 30 or so easy miles, just drain and refill with the proper oil once back at shop or home.

went with Toyota Blueprint mixed with the raptor liner. It came out a lot darker than i was hoping but it appears to be lightening up as it dries so hopefully tomorrow in the sun i’ll get a real idea of the color. it got too dark before i could get it back together to take some better pics.

overall i’m pretty happy with the results so far

Looks great! Will it be easy to touch up?
You'll have to do an MPG test to see how much that surface affects your MPG compared to a smooth, waxed surface.

touching up shouldn’t be bad at all just pretty much spraying over what’s there when needed. from what i’ve read MPGs don’t change much but i’ll keep an eye on it

Pattern came out very good without streaks/splotches for a DIY job.

How hard is this to keep clean? My 470 is going to need a re-paint in the next few years. Unsure if it will get just a new paint job in the OEM color (which is an awesome color), a wrap, or Raptor Liner. Raptor would seem to be the cheapest and easiest to DIY. I do see a lot of dirt in my rig and woudl be curious on if it's possible to keep it clean-ish with all of the texture.

Thanks! I may consider it when that time gets closer. My rig still looks great at 20 ft, but the roof clear is peeling and the paint has a lot of scratches/swirls. It would be hard to spend $5-7K on a Cypress Green respray and then scratch it it off-road.

Can you use any color/pigment with Raptor or are they limited to their "stock" pigments? Ideally I'd keep the OEM Cypress Green pigment.

Thanks. If i end up going this route in the future it's good to know that any color can be used. Again, way cheaper than $5-7K for a "real" paint job.

Also did you paint over the Toyota emblem on the back? Or it is able to be masked or re-installed over the Raptor liner?
