4 months and 2 trans drain and fills later confirmed that the “noise” is majority gone.

So def think it had to do with the complete trans flush that i did at lexus 27k ago at 100k

never thought that would cause issues but i can’t explain why after the first drain and fills later confirmed last month it started to feel better and then after the second even more so.

Def won’t ever do a complete flush on a sealed trans ever again

now onto finding a complete brake pad/rotor replacement

welp got bored and decided to go all in.

cut the muffler and resonator off

started with the resonator and notice 0 change so kept going

definitely a noticeable difference without the muffler

i missed the throaty sound of an exhaust so it’s definitely appealing to me but since this is a “luxury” car i know im in the minority and will get a bunch of flack but im happy with it so far.

will see this week how the highway/everyday driving feels

Prepare for DROOOOOOOOOONE!!!!!!

A nice Borla muffler in place of those two would give you a nice rumble but cut down on some of the drone. Cutting the mid muffler and rear resonator is just gonna suck for highway driving.

Also, any speedy accelerations with police next to you.
Down by where I live, the city of Laguan Beach has noise restriction laws AND they enforce them. Since PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) goes right through town, the law is mostly for the open pipe Harley's and uncorked hot rods.
Don't know if there are any noise restriction laws in Maryland near where Tech703 lives.

Def no issue with noise around here lol, I moved from VA where there was definitely more enforcement up here in MD you see people running open headers daily driving right past the troopers and local cops lol.

here is a short clip I made this morning

Are you going to weld on a short turnout toward the side? It'll help direct exhaust out the side instead of up into the cab.
Have you noticed any odor with windows down yet?
When I jettisoned my resonator, I had a short turnout welded to the end of the muffler and has been great for the past couple years!

Maryland is funny that way - they have a pretty intense initial inspection and then they never look into anything every again lol. I used to be mad about VA's annual safety inspections until I moved to a state with nothing (SC) for a couple years and saw the level of neglect the general population inflicts on their relatively new vehicles and the havoc it leads to.

I'm finally getting time to install my Dissent rear bumper this weekend and have been thinking about chopping off the exhaust tip and resonator since I think it will hang down too far below the new bumper and look dumb. I've been trying to figure out if there really isn't a sound difference or if people just ignore it...also if the chopped tip will somehow pull fumes back into the cabin if it just dumps after the rear axle.

I've seen (not on GX460 examples yet) where someone had cut short and removed heat shields nearby. Insulation (through floor plugs) got warm, then eventually carpet, and finally back seats.😮

Watching the guy drive by with smoke pouring out the windows was hilarious only because he survived without injury. Headliner, back glass, back seat, back and b-pillar plastics, etc. were torched. He had chopped the exhaust right behind the cats recently. Could be coincidence...I am not an authority on the subject.

nothing special lately but did change all 4 brake pads, rotors and shoes/hatdware

doing the shoes is the biggest PITA everywhere but on the plus side this will hopefully be the only time i ever have to do it

yeah it def sucked, worst part is i think the parking brake still isn’t adjusted correctly even though i took it off and made sure to get that “drag” when putting the rotors back on. I still feel it creep if i put the parking brake on before putting in park
