I see some people saying they run the compressor off their auxiliary battery and have also seen people hooking it up to the starter battery. I plan to run it off the auxiliary. Has anyone had any issues doing that? Using an Odyssey AGM group 75/86.
Personally I run all add-on electrical items off the auxiliary battery with circuit breakers, the only exception is the winch which goes to starter battery. Just my $.02.

I went back and forth with this and ultimately decided to try running everything off the second battery (except winch). Worst case scenario, I drain the second batt and have to wait for solar or the alternator to recharge it. The second batt is small and relatively cheap and won't leave me stranded. If it's undersized, you can always size up the second battery if needed. The compressor only pulls <50 amps so it's not like a winch (500+ amps) where it'll just kill the battery in seconds without a constant charge source.

Mirrors my approach. The resident Can-Bus system doesn't need any of my misdeeds or aux. equipment to confuse it. The old adage of KISS works well.

hello, I just came across this thread. Anyone know what style of electrical connector is used there at the ARB solenoid? I'm not running the ARB harness and was looking for some connectors to use, rather than just chop them off. I've seen these before but I don't know what they are called. the "white electrical connector" shown below

I see reference to "T Style" connector and I see similar connectors on various low power "power" harnesses. If I'm looking at the same thing.

Hey all,

Thanks for the great info so far. I am attempting to wire up my "light (blue wire)" and "Ignition (orange/yellow stripe wire)" for my arb compressor switch. Curious what sources people tapped into. Maybe the dimmer switch or mirror adjustment panel. Or is it better to just use a fuse tap and go straight out of the fuse panel? I was thinking either 15/16 empty fuse slots or 1/2 fuse slots.

Thanks in advance.
