Hey just wondering if anyone has used this aftermarket REAR 3 POINT BELT CONVERSION kit on their FJ60 from SOR? Ive searched threads and find retrofits from FJ62's...but need anyones thoughts on their kit.

Its the one at the bottom of the page: the REAR 3 POINT BELT CONVERSION

Thanks for any help. Want to keep the kids safe !

I haven't used it, but I am probably going to do it in the future. I would go for it. SOR is pretty trustworthy, and I've always been happy with their products. Sorry I can't help more.

I was thinking about getting them too................................

Appreciate it! Wife is concerned about the fj60 safety...no if I can only figure out how to install airbags!!!!

With no air bags kid can ride up front with 3 point. Also remind her the 60 can't go above 70 mph

Be aware that the shoulder portion of the SOR conversion kit is non-retracting. I went with more modern retractable rear 3 point belts from Seatbelt Planet. They were about the same price as the ones from SOR. Maybe a little less. Look in here to see how I did mine: The Rushing Turdle

I just bought FJ62 belts from Toyota. The threaded hole was in my pillar. But I did have to get weld an adapter plate for the reel. I put a thick plate on and then bolted on the reels. I think this is the cheapest way to do it, and It's all retractable.

I run the stock Toyota non retractable shoulder belts in my 60. They are a slight upgrade from just the lap belt, but retractable shoulder belts would be much better.

Same boat here in my 62. Shoulder belts give a little more peace of mind with the kids back there, but new retractables all the way around are on my list..

What model # retractable belt did you get for your 60? I'm looking to order a set from Seatbelt Planet.

Thanks!

From my Turdle thread:

I have had several inquiries regarding the seat belts I purchased and where I got them. I bought my belts from Seatbelt Planet. Part numbers are as follows and each part number is one pair of belts (2 seats worth):

Front belts - 5031235 FJ60&62 1983-90 Land Cru Dr/Pass/Dk Brown

Rear belts - 5031335 FJ60&62 1983-90 Land Cru Rear Dr/Pass /Hdw Dk Brown.

FYI for those who may follow after - The rear shoulder belt combo #5031335 including all hardware retractors and receivers for both driver and passenger sides is $250 plus shipping from Seatbelt Planet (as of 9/12/16). I got it for my wife for her anniversary gift. I'll let you know how that goes... :-)

Does anyone have pictures of where to install the third point on FJ62? I have the three point seat belt planet setup!

Typically the end you are holding mounts where you have the retractable portion. The retractable portion mounts in the C pillar area.
