Does Anyone Know the Color Code for the Green that is used on the Starter and Generators of Early 25/40s? Getting ready to repaint mine.

Thanks,

John

Well I did some digging and it looks like Destin used hunter green on his starter and generator, so I will do the same. His looks pretty damn good.

Destins was a little too green. Fox had some color matched, not sure if he has the formula.

wasn't the paint on the starter/ generator two shades of green. At least all the ones I have come across were.....I had them matched at the local paint shop in town for my LV resto. I'll see if I can dig up some pics tomorrow.

all the ones I've seen are almost black................just barely a hint of green

My generators have all been black or close to. I do have starter that is clearly green. Problem so many starters have taken to shops over the years and were repainted after a rebuild to look new. Most common color used was black.

finally found the pics I was looking for.... these are from a '64 so maybe the early 40's were black and they switched to green in the mid-60's

my starter is def green, as is the coil. not sure if the generator ever was, will have to look closer.

Looks like mine 62 starter and alternator are all factory. Starter 2 tones of green, alternator is green with.... Well, nothing. Dizzy is blank aluminium, covered with dirt.

our gen is green on back end only and dizzy is alum also.

snapped a quick pic of annies. looks the same. pardon the dirt. she does like to get out in it. :)
