Any interest in Fj40 safari tops for FST bows

I'm not sure why aftermarket bows come with loose vertical pieces for the B pillar. From the FJ25 thru the last soft top model imported to the US the B pillar was one piece that included bow and two vertical pieces. They no measuring and attaching the vertical pieces. Never heard of any issues on the OEM or Kayline tops made at the time not fitting the factory bows.

At this point there aren’t many options for aftermarket bows. Edit* Unless, like you, a person has a stash of OE bows, TROA seems to be the only game in town..

So, I guess there’s going to be “some assembly required”.

Apologies for the bombardment this AM.

Does the TROA have the large 2 bolt foot at the base of the rear posts (Like the Real steel) looking at options for the bracket located on the upper wheel well where the soft top post secures to the wheel well. Can you post a pic?

“Heritage” is showing different options for the part. Just curious what you used.

Thanks again.

Real Steel is no longer making bows? Think the biggest disappointment is all the B pillar bows are straight for soft doors or early hard doors. Nothing for the mid sixties and later hard doors. That's what most people have.To my knowledge no one is making factory style soft doors?

It's due to shipping John. You would have to freight them if they were together. It would also be easy to add a couple of spot welds if desired.

Believe at one time aftermarket bows were available that the with the pipe was installed in the vertical section and had the bend so only the center pipe with the small arc needed be installed? That would make more sense.

In 2009 these were listed for sale on Mud. After a few days with no interest I bought them. Seller was only willing to put the box outside for pick up. Had to create a UPS account to get them to pick up the box. In the end the shipping cost was double the quote. But for $200 it was not worth not having to reassemble the bows. I couldn't understand why no one was interested in the bows and top for $200. Door were for sale separately but had bunch of rust. These were in MI. The back bow needs a small section replaced before the first bend on one side. An easy fix.

How much?

This isn't the classified section and not listing them for sale. Other than the one from 2009 everything else was bought in the last century. Storing this stuff for so long not sure it was worth buying. After buying a soft top model in 1994 and seeing how strong Toyota made their soft top bows I was hooked. I bought an FJ25 in 2002 with the factory and seen those were made from heavier pipe. Not sure of any other soft top bows available for any none military vehicle you can stand on the running board and rock the vehicle side to side and the bows do not flex.

Still think it's a shame no one makes a B pillar for hard doors when no one makes OEM style soft doors. While I don't have all the handles I do have soft doors for all my bows.

I figured with all the times you posted those same pics in various different threads, including the 2 or 3 times you posted them in this thread, they must be for sale.:)

@roma042987

Apologies for the semi hijack. This is a really nice option for the 40 series. I can start a separate thread if this gets clouded with the installation process.

Thanks again!!!

I just got a quote from TROA (via ebay messenger because apparently they don't receive the messages from their website contact us form..........)
Took a good little while, but I did get a quote email from their website. Has a $190 charge for freight, but then says “Free shipping”🤷🏻‍♂️

I did get a follow up email today from Albert with a quote. Too bad we are on opposite sides of the country, we could share the free shipping costs!
