I've replaced a couple of brake tubes and am waiting on a wheel cylinder and removing the fittings has been a bitch. To make it easier on myself or the next owner, should I use Teflon tape or anti-seize on the fittings when I put things back together?

Thanks,
Pete

I always use very thin film of antiseize. Don't get any on the flare surfaces.

usually the only reason the lines have an issue coming out is that the inner end of the fitting against the flare of the brake tube flares out until it is larger than the threaded part, and then it doesn't want to unthread.

Neither teflon or anti seize will fix that.

Neither teflon or anti seize will fix that.

in parts of the country, other than sunny california, road salt does a number on both the threaded connection and the slip fit of the nut over the brake line...anti seize lives up to its name in those cases.
