Haven’t updated my build for some time it seems. I recently got to installing my 91/92. Artery tray so I can run dual batteries. My brother made me the bracket to relocate my windshield washer bottle.
I have all of the parts for the 2nd battery on their way. I’m going to end up running a Wal-Mart 3 year warranty or the Costco version Interstate 3 year warranty 24F sized battery. my goal is to later run a fridge.For the time being the second battery will power my auxiliary fuse block which powers my CB, upper and lower LED bars, and auxiliary fan. My winch will stay on my starting battery as I want the alternator to feed power to the battery as the winch is powered.That’s what the good ol hand throttle is for.

This next post will be for when I install the battery and wire it up. I’ll be using the Blue Sea 7610 ACR along with 2ga wires, 100 and 200 amp fuses.

got it all finished up today. I ended up mounting the ACR to the backside of the battery box as I couldn’t find a better spot that would hide most of the wiring. I ran two grounds from the house battery ( one to the engine and one to the body).

I ended up going with an interstate 24F since it had the terminals in the desired locations. Hard to pass up at $115 out the door( would've been 100 if I had a core).
Everything else was pretty straight forward. Cutting the cables to length and crimping them took up the most time.
Pretty happy with the install. The only thing left to do is add the LED light in the dash but that’s not necessary at this time.

Found some FJ Steelies to go along with the new Firestone Destination MT2’s (37x12.5x17)
Very happy with the overall look of the new set up. Also very impressed with the deep tread pattern of the MT2’s. Some slight rubbing up front when turned all the way so I ordered some 1.25” spacers to fix that.
Now I just need to perform the chalk test to obtain the best PSI for these tires.

Today I removed the old steel cable and installed a hawse fairlead with 100’ of synthetic winch line. It barely fits on that spool. I would suggest 80-85ft for a badlands 12k winch. I went with the milemarker shackle mount for the hook point.

A couple weeks ago my brother added a fold up table to my bumper. It’s made to perfectly fit my Coleman stove.

After adding the fold up stove, I needed my hi-lift mount relocated. My brother moved the mounts to the top tube of the bumper. He then fabbed up a rotopax mount. I’m happy with the way this bumper has evolved over the years I’ve had it. Even with the add-ons, im only into it maybe $900-1000.

Be aware that winches with the brake located inside the drum can heat the first few turns of rope to the point where the rope softens and bonds together leaving you unable to access all of your winch line This happened to me on an Engo winch that came to me new in the box with a cruiser I bought in 2014. The blue rope was sold with the winch.

I was alone and attempting to climb up out of the ice and snow covered granite bowl not far from the Loon Lake spillway. Much to my dismay, I was denied access to all 80 feet of rope and then that Chinese winch brake mechanism broke and jammed the drum up so I had nothing. I replaced the Engo with a Warn HS9500i from CL and still run 125' of steel rope. I never liked how the rocks abbraided the rope making it "fuzzy" anyway.

Your rig is looking good. Be careful "out there".......

Good to know.
The synthetic line came with a “heat shield” over the first 6’ and the last 6’ to help with heat issues and abrasions.

hopefully I don’t have that same issue. I would be so pissed. I did keep the old 80’ of steel line as an extension or emergency line if anything happened to the synthetic.

Added the LCP transfer case shifter extension.
as simple as it is, it’s such a nice little mod.
now I need to get my shifter recovered!!!

Located a very nice console pad from a local guy. I also removed the entire console and cleaned it up before putting it back.

Removed the rear window trim, cleaned up underneath it and resealed all of the clips with RTV. The old paper gaskets were pretty much non existent. Hopefully this solves the moisture problem in the rear wheel wells.

I finally got around to changing out the steering shaft seal. The old one was pretty blown out! I wish I wouldn’t have done this today. The bolt to the collar snapped off before anything even started getting tight:/

Now I get to remove the entire shaft from the box and tag joint and attempt to remove the snapped bolt. I even made sure the bolt was in the groove of the shaft

Ordered a huracan fab tailgate storage system today. Should have it sometime next week.

Well my storage system,window motors, window runs, spare fusible link, and new fridge showed up this week. Unfortunately I cannot use my right arm for a couple weeks due serious burns. Sadly the install will have to wait 3-4 weeks

The Setpower fridge has good reviews and for under $300 I had to try it out.

Update: This fridge would not display the accurate temp . It was consistently off by 6-8* (per two separate thermometers)Needless to say I sent it back and ordered Iceco jp50.
