Update

Well, I have decided that I do not like the way the vehicle handles so I ordered some 4" springs. I talked to Eli @ Camel 4x4 and he said all I needed was the springs. Anyone need a set of 6" springs?

How has your mileage been lately?

As the Build Turns

Good times!!!! I miss K1.

A wise person, Waggoner5, told me when I started this build that getting the engine in is the easy part. Working out the bugs is the hard part.

In the past my electric fan has quit on me twice. The second time I reworked the wiring. So I started it up since I had not driven in a couple of weeks (I'll get to that in a minute) and went back inside. When I back out steam was blowing out the overflow tube and the temp was reading 270 when I shut it off. Yep, the fan quit working again because of same reason, blown fuse. I let it cool down, put some fluid back in, and started it back up. It ran ok and no steam was coming out the tailpipe. Definitely some Divine intervention. The next day, I bought a mechanical fan blade and heavy duty clutch and today I bought a shroud kit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-380457-sh. I'll post up pics when I do the install.

Now I had not been driving it because the throttle quit working on me again. I have emailed and talked with the vendor and he is not being helpful. I talked to my mechanic about it and he said to bring it back up there and he will troubleshoot it.

Soooo after I get all this sorted out, I get to drive it up to Edwin's shop so we can up my 4" springs on. I'll get some before/after pics of that.

That concludes this week's episode of "As the Build Turns"...

Seems like the drive by wire is a pita. Would it be worth swapping over to drive by cable?

35k miles on mine now ... still no o2 readings so its in limp mode and only get 11 mpg ... but the cable T-body works great

Yea, DRW is crap!!! I have thought about it and it's just a matter of money:

New throttle body
New engine harness
Cable and pedal and brackets
ECU programming

I still may do it if this keeps up. Since my mechanic has localized the trouble in the throttle body connector, I talked to him about cutting it out and splicing in a new factory one. We'll see what he finds out after I finish the fan and get it to him.

and you get to use the OEM cruise control with the cable since the CC ECU is separate and is probably still in your rig.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations though.

I like my dbw.

If you need a PCM programmed let me know. I have the hp tuner software now. As long as the serial wire is in the same position in the red/blue and green/blue pcms then I can do it.

I would hate to see you take a step back to cable though
