Thanks for the Metri-Pack suggestion. This 3-pin may fit the bill. I really want the light removable with as little hanging from the mirror as possible. If I can fashion this plug so that it just protrudes from the mirror, I can mount the light on a RAM ball when I need it and plug it in easily. I'm not going to use these lights much and since I DD it 99% of the time, I don't want anything else to invite unsavory characters to my truck in some of the downtown accounts I work.

@Dissent that might be a little big for the space. Why not use a flat connector? Even go with Metri-Pack? Have you seen my thread on installing this? I stuffed a LOT of wires in mine and have several Metri-Pack connectors but I kept those inside the door, not the mirror. I never saw a need to use a connector inside the mirror housing.

Joey, have you considered doing turn signal lamps off of these brackets hanging down so they are easily see from front or rear? (Like a semi truck turn signal, but not as gaudy or huge.)

Just curious why you need 3-pin? Is it a dual light setup? Be sure you use the correct side of the connector for the device side and the power side. In other words be sure the side with the make pins is on the device side. The power side, when unplugged, will be exposed and it doesn't take much effort to somehow connect the pins to cause a short. I'm not questioning your ability just noting it for others reading this thread.

Yes, it's part of my setup. Well, it will eventually be part of my setup if I can make some decisions on other things I'm doing with the doors that are preventing me from finishing this project

Yeah, it's for dual lights; Flood and Spot. I'm considering mounting a turn signal and the puddle light as well which will be wired inside the door/mirror. Still need to pull fenders, cut holes and route wires and boots, just stuck on this dang plug. I was originally looking at this type of waterproof connector with a protective cap. It requires a .86 inch mounting hole.

I envision something with 3-pins that would fit in a 1/2 hole and only protrude about 1/4" with a screw on cap. Doesn't seem like too much to ask but I just haven't found it yet.

The lights would be mounted with 2 RAM balls which would live on the mirror mount full time, I can just pop on the lights, plug 'em in and go!

Think I might have found the connector. I'ts a Bulgin Buccanner PX0802, not very deep and may fit in place of the plastic plug. Insert for the actual wire uses screw connectors and there's a tidy cap to keep dust out. Found it on Amazon for about $10+shipping.

You are, however you should except backlash especially when others have purchased and appericate the hard work and money that went into developing cool items for our aging vehicles. Oh and BTW I just checked their site, the bracket are $59, but you get free shipping

I looked through a few of the site's pages and did couldn't find $48 anywhere. Now if someone else wants to look and correct me that's great, go ahead do so, then pm me and I'll correct this here, giving them credit. But let's stay on topic.

To the OP, if you don't see the value, fine. Message YotaTeq, tell them, see if you can set up a groupbuy, do something else besides bitching about it.

Those who have purchased Franks's stuff knows of its quality. Knowing him personally he's a great dude who puts lots of thought into the design and pricing of his product. I could go on and on, but prefer to read more about peoples' mounting of the brackets, what lights they used, how they ran the wiring and most importantly I want more pictures... I like pictures

They aren't. Yodateq makes a quality product for a fair amount. If you don't like it, make your own. It's cool.

Feel free to express your frustrations. Meanwhile many of us will express our frustrations with people like you that only want to complain about the cost of ditch light brackets instead of being thankful for the expertise and willingness to invest in the equipment to make products to support our addiction.

There are plenty of products from people on MUD that I don't like or don't think are worth the money. I keep my mouth shut or message them directly and ask them why. I don't broadcast on their thread that I think their stuff is ridiculous. Why don't I? Because I'm not a jerk.

I think you were looking at a different product. They're currently going for $129.

For me it was an easy purchase. $130, AND I DON'T have to design my own which will not be anywhere near as good the first go around, and will take hours of my time.
I get a product that will fit, do what it is designed to do, with very little effort on my part.

Oh and stop bitching about pricing, today these would cost me $181CAD + the UPS "we bend you over dry" shipping charges!
