Once the door is off use this tool (photo in post below) to pull the wires through. Another method is to push through a small but long screwdriver, tape the wires to the end of the screwdriver. Then pull the screwdriver back through the grommets.

Just be careful not to damage the factory wiring with the tool or screwdriver.

Oh, I see what you're doing there. That's a great tool, just ordered one last night for another project. Thanks for the pics and info, I'll definitely go this route but I may add the second wire tube as they're already on their way. That looks pretty tight and I still want to fish an antenna lead through there. How do you hold the door to realign it?

You can lift the door a few ways. Using a jack or two is probably easiest. I just manhandled it. Lean against the door jamb in a slightly crouched position. Pick up the door and set it on your thighs. Do toe presses to line up the bolts. :hillbilly:

Frank, Will you run a "Christmas Group Buy" as well in November?!?! By then I should be able to buy these. Have too many immediate needs now. :)

I've got a question to those who've installed these brackets already. Do you think a compact 4-pin Delphi Weatherpack connector will insert up from the bottom into the mirror housing. I'm considering using a Ram ball mount to make my lights removable and I'd like to have the wire connector tucked up underneath the mirror and secure in place as flush as possible. Here's a pic of the connector. I'm thinking about the one in the center, second row.

No. Bare wire only. The tube that goes up is very narrow. I ran out of space for the wires I wanted. Assemble the connector after you've pulled the wire through.

I meant once the wires are routed to the outside, I want to install the connector and somehow embed it into the bracket and/or mirror housing rather than have it dangling under the mirror or surface mounted. I thought it would be neater if it could somehow push back into the mount and end up flush or only protrude slightly underneath.

Yeah there is space in the housing behind the mirror panel. Not a lot, but it's more open.

The Round hole is 1¼" ID and is intended to run the ditch light wire down from the top of the bracket through the round hole under the mirror and into the door. As you can see in the photo the mirror reduces the round hole in half. I don't think you can stuff the connector into the hole or want to have it out for people to see.

Thanks for the pic. I was planning on using the puddle light hole for the puddle light but maybe I can use it for the connector and move the puddle light over a bit with a new hole. Maybe I'll pickup a junk yard mirror and play with it a bit.

I will post up some pics later of how the bracket marries onto the mirror so you and others can get an idea of how it comes together.

It's a pretty simple install to add ditch lights and run the wires through the door.

@Dissent that might be a little big for the space. Why not use a flat connector? Even go with Metri-Pack? Have you seen my thread on installing this? I stuffed a LOT of wires in mine and have several Metri-Pack connectors but I kept those inside the door, not the mirror. I never saw a need to use a connector inside the mirror housing.
