A few years ago I picked up a couple of exact copies of the OEM knock sensor from O'Reillys for ~$40 each however that same part may not still be available.

Rockauto sells an NTK brand sensor for ~$95.
NTK IME makes reliable products.

Thought I'd update for anyone else dealing with the knock sensor code. I ended up biting the bullet and ordering a genuine Toyota 89615-30050 from partsouq. It cost about $125 including shipping. No codes after about 300 miles of driving.

It should be noted that the 1FZ-FE engine requires qty 2 knock sensors. This is the case for my ‘97 engine that got two new sensors from T.

@Pin_Head The pictures might be deceiving. There were a few deep scratches and the oil pump gear had some scratches as well. I put the new bushing in this morning and the new gear fits just right.

Ran into another issue of course. As I was torqueing down the cylinder oil nozzle and check valves, the first 2 both broke at the weak point in the valve bolt body. This is incredibly frustrating because now I probably have to wait at least another week to get (6) of these in, and I can't really do much assembly without them. I needed to have the motor back in by next Sunday so that I could have a couple of weeks to break it in and line everything out before a trip in June.

Hey mate, I realise I am awakening an old thread but have just had the same thing happen with my oil check valve shearing off apon install. Did you get a parts number and aquire them from Toyota direct? Hard to find which unit is for the 1fz as all the ones I have found are listed for other motors.
Cheers!

Which "oil check valve" are you referring to (oil pressure sender/sensor, oil level sensor, pressure relief valve, or??)

To help find part numbers you can go to Partsouq and type in your VIN, then start searching for the system, part, etc.

Figured it out, it's the check valve/bolt for the piston oil nozzles. Local dealership wants $30 per unit, while Amayama have them for $10 each.

This one?
