Glad to hear everything turned out well, and I am sorry I didn't make it but the scouting trip turned out to be much more involved than I had originally thought........

Thanks again to David for a stand up job!!!

Me too...

Sorry I didn't make it David. The scouting trip was lengthy and arduous at times.

JP and I both talked about the Cue at camp last night wishing we had some too. JP did fire up his famous Rotel so at least we had some good camp grub.

Hope to see you in 2 weeks David - it is going to be a blast!!

Thanks for hosting a great club function!!

I had a great time guys. Great BBQ david! I think logan (alkaline) gets the iron butt award for this meet, I didn't realize it took 3+ hrs to get to ashville from charlotte! Glad he made it out though.

Gehn, You should have seen the smoke pour off that tractor trailor's tires when you about cut him off on Hwy 25 almost by Hwy 11... It was crazy! Haha.. I was a little scared for you there.

haha, i know! My pass side mirror is broken (points down at my rear tire) and I totally didn't see him behind my spare tire in the right rear quarter window :whoops: i felt like an ass.

Misty and I thuroughly enjoyed the bar b que and ribs....I love the set up you have there in your neighborhood. You have some great neighbors, enjoyed the fellowship and commradery with everyone there. Thanks a bunch!!

We were honored by YOUR presence! Thanks for making the long journey.

My proudest moment was when you guys came rolling in: my daughter Sallie, seeing the convoy, said to me, "Dad, that's a lot of Land Cruisers." This from a four year old who had never seen a 60 and who was two when we sold our 80 to Andy.

Alex asked me last night why I had joined after lurking for a number of years. I didn't have a very good answer at the time, but have thought about the question ever since.

I think the answer is that you voluntarily join a club for two reasons: (1) you have something in common; and (2) you recognize yourself in other members. Well, now owning my 3rd, 4th, and 5th Cruisers I have #1 covered. As to the second reason, I think the answer is that I see in you guys who I was (Gehn, Trio), who I am (Alex and David H.), and who I hope to be someday (Alan). (Ok, Alan, please don't come up here and kick my desk-jockey butt, I am not saying you're old). Jin had the same reaction to Mary, Lynne, and Misty.

I look forward to seeing you guys soon!

Sincerely,

David, Jin, and Sallie

Gents,

Sorry I couldn't make it, I was a little "under the weather" and on top of that have come down with the flu bug. Will make it next time:frown:
