Installed the old running boards after I cleaned them up and shot them with some flat black.

They’re on the list of items to replace down the road but for now my wife will appreciate a step to help get in the rig.

Oh yeah, I had to drill some holes in the rocker panels, I didn’t drill them out before paint because I planned on sliders that don’t mount to the body. Shot some primer in from the backside to cover the bare metal, I’m sure it’s insufficient and I’ll be addressing it later.

I scored the correct mounting bracket for the washer bottle yesterday, there are a few more parts in transit somewhere between California and here.

Last fall I started a wiper thread, about how well your wipers actually work. I’m bringing the washer system up to par as well as the wipers.

New wipers
New sprayer nozzle/installing the entire washer system
RainX on the glass
Low speed is now working with my wipers

Soon I’ll get to test that out on the swarms of mayflies along the river, time will tell.

But in the meantime, I have been hearing a strange whistling sound coming from the engine after I run it hard. First thoughts are to look for a vacuum leak somewhere.

Wasn’t hard to find.

The bolts for the intake and exhaust manifolds were loose, the ones where the flapper is. I have a stainless block off plate between the manifolds, the gasket on the exhaust side must have been whistling like a reed once it got hot.

Fixed that yesterday before I went fishing.

@GA Architect @RWBeringer4x4 do either one of you guys know if the spray nozzle is adjustable?

Stick as big a needle that will fit down those washer nozzles. Once you have it in as far as possible, gently push the needle in the direction you want the nozzle to spray.

If this doesn't work, don't try to force it. The next thing may be to shim the base.
