Note to self: don't paint at night, the bugs love the bright lights.

And the paint.

Getting busy. First coat of Monstaliner is on, tomorrow night I will put a second coat on.

That stuff is awesome! It is like a super duty seam sealer, I worked it into every crack and crevice I could mop it into. By the looks of it I will be able to put a HEAVY coat on tomorrow, maybe even a third coat.

your in high gear and it is looking great

You could say time is limited. Soon I won't have a full garage to work from for a while.

Coat #2 on, pulled all of the tape and plastic off. If all goes well I will put the tub back on the chassis Saturday, tape it all back up and prep for paint on the rest of the tub.

Geeeez...are you working round the clock?

It is sure starting to feel that way. Between the day job, stressing over the likely move, and trying to get the 40 together, I am beat.

@steffan here is the final product, the texture is created during the application of the second coat of Monstaliner.

It always feels good to lay on some color. Looks great.

Thanks! Not bad for a first time painter!

Nothing like a deadline to light a fire under your a**.

A deadline that ends without a garage to work out of for a while also! Once I get the tub finished it should be all downhill from there. I may even try to fire the engine this weekend!

Looks great. Is your wiring and everything else ready to go?

I'll be a few weeks behind you on the tub. Not sure when we'll start on the hardtop and front clip.

The front wiring harness needs cleaned up a little, a couple of splices near the ignition switch need some attention, and the section that runs up the passenger fender needs some splices done.

I caught that section under a tire in the beginning of this mess, rolling it out from the garage.

Most of the other parts should still be good, I will clean everything up real good. Once I get the body work done I will focus on getting it back together so I can drive it, I can tweak minor things from there.

All of the major components are brand spanking new!

Assembly is much more fun (and cleaner) than teardown.

After busting yourself to get all this work done moving will be a breeze. You will find moving a real vacation. He he!

Don

ps- you are making some real good looking progress there.

It rained, I couldn't mow the grass.
