What a score!! Similar situation for myself when my wifes mother passed away. She had been a pioneer woman of Quesnel. (and kept everything) The best treasure was a book written along time ago actually interviewing the original prospectors that came over the mtns into the Cariboo goldfields. Many maps and especially the pre emptor series maps of Williams Lake and north thru PG. I can sit for hours a day looking at those treasures.
Lucky you!!

I know. I'm the same way with that stuff. My brother just dropped off a couple more boxes yesterday, so you know what I'll be doing.......

that sort of things are very cool. i recently picked up some regarding the local area from an antique show. nothing that significant but still fun to check out.

Cindy Looper is hoping too come!

These Fiskar loopers (my Cindy Loopers) work well on the Mackenzie Trail - for example getting your door open. Good for up to 1 1/4" diameter stuff, 15" long and super light and strong.

I carry them all the time for clearing out camping spots of eye pokers and bush in the way of my table. Tell the wife they are usefull in the yard too. $20 Home Depot

They're also useful in case you need to do some emergency toe removal. Ask Bill. lol.

Gary Telford - BJ74 - is a go.:D

PS: My clutch is in, clutch booster vacuum leak fixed - finally and Tcase/tranny internal seal replaced.
Still a 'maybe" and not a lucky as the 'committed'

Its getting close!!!! Less than a month....I sure hope the back country stays open! We don't want a repeat of 2010 and have the forest fires chasing us!!! :

:bounce: The fjc is an oil change away from being ready.
I've been thinking about the fire situation as well. Fire ban goes into effect for a lot of BC at noon today. Lets hope that we get to enjoy the trip without having to hunker down in a lake to keep from getting roasted.
Whatever happens, it's bound to be an adventure :D

Good to hear Glenn. How's the relocation to the interior going?

10 min. ago completed a deal for a house on a flat 0.4 acre big enough for 1,200 sq.ft shop in Kelowna. Although Kelowna has a 14.5' height restriction (midpoint of roof peak and bottom of the eaves) I just might be able to get 12 - 13' height inside with scizzor trusses.

One things for sure...The McKenzie Trail is ALWAYS an adventure!! You just don't know what the exact specifics of the adventure are going to be!!

That's great Glenn. Now you can focus on more important things....⛺

It is lookin' much better for me - from 50% to 80%. A few more critical things to get done.

Good to hear Glenn.
I'm pretty much set to go now, just have some busy days at work to prep for my time off.
Dirk, how's the fire situation up there looking like?

Fire situation seems pretty good with only one fire of note burning in the Itchas Mtns. These are the mtns directly above us and while they have closed a trail in the area, its of no bother to us.

So I assume we are still meeting at that campsite by Riske Creek. With us all coming from different locations, whats the plan if someone is not there bythe time we break camp in the morning?

Also, does anyone on the trip going to be running their SPOT sharing data? I didn't activate mine this year as I haven't used the truck much so if I could copy someones sharing data, my wife would be happy to follow us online.
Let me know
