The only concern I have about the filter minder is whether or not the indicator remains at the highest point of indication reached until reset.
Yup, they hold until you reset them.

Kevin,
How is the long term testing using the minder? Are you still on the same filter and what numbers are you seeing now? I'm seeing 11 on my minder but still using it.
I'm still running the cleaned filter, installed 9/13. It's sitting at 8, not going to do anything till it shows over 20, so a couple more years?
Interesting, so your filter has been in service since Sept 2013 and it now sits at 8? Evidently you ain't hitting the dirt roads enough, LOL!!!
I ordered one last October from EBay with the electrical connector. I picked up a few male connectors at the wreckers today. The elec connectors are used on some GM vehicles in the engine bay for various things. I'll install the filter minder tomorrow, but it will likely be some time before I wire it up. I should have figured out the wiring when I had the dash out.

Maybe the answer was given earlier in this thread, but how does the electrical sensor part work? Is it an on-off switch or a variable resistance? Did you know there's a "clogged air filter" indicator lamp position built into the 80 cluster? It doesn't come from the factory populated with a bulb, but it's easy to add a bulb and wire into the circuit. I wired up mine to indicate my interior winch control is activated, but it could be used by you to indicate the air cleaner is clogged.
Installed mine yesterday finally. I'll try to wire it up to the dash light this spring.

It came with a Metri-Pack connector?
These filter minders use flow restriction to pull the plunger down. Wouldn't you have to match the correct minder to the corresponding filter to match the flow restriction? Example:
filter minder from a 20 sq.in. filter would have a different resistance spring/plunger for a filter that has 75 sq.in.
Yes? No?
