$145K, without factory lockers....and steelies..🤦

No details...no clue on the transmission for example. When it comes to swaps, details matter and how well it was implemented.

Everything else looks stock and decent. Very few aftermarket parts: alarm, horns, roof rack, sliders, motor, etc.

Did they do a good job painting? No idea. One would need a very close inspection.

This is what I saw from the pictures.
Pulled the rear heater but left the button?

Missing inspection plug on transmission bellhousing

I don't like the way they ran the transmission cooler lines underneath the bottom radiator support. They will get chafed.

I can't see a trans cooler...it is not in the stock location at least.

I don't like the way they ran the exhaust below the t-case. It is just a regular exhaust shop job....nothing special.

The cats hang low... Mine are tucked into the frame.

The fuel lines, running outside the frame, look sus. Band Clamps?
1753669790913.webp

The rear brake lines are also run outside the frame....??? This is asking for big trouble...There is a reason why factory run them inside the frame, away from areas that tires can send road debris.

ABS deleted and the brake lines were manhandled...not a professional job. Factory coil hardlines for expansion purposes...

No power steering cooler?
Missing the plastic step for the 3rd seats.
The air box pulls air from where?
The washer fluid lines are weird, and not run in the factory location. It looks like they don't have the line running to the rear wiper.

The front bumper isn't adjusted correctly on the driver's side.

That spare is hanging crazy low....
Are there still vin stickers on the body panels?
Removed rear window deflector, and also the factory roof rack.
Not a great install of the replacement carpet.
The replacement seat leathers look good.
The gas and hood releases are swapped.
Both knuckles appear to be weeping gear oil.
The rear lower controls have been recently replaced with OEM.
I prefer the OEM horns and not cheap aftermarket horns.
Replacement speakers don't look great.
The replacement washer bottle probably doesn't hold a gallon of fluid anymore...
Missing the rubber plugs for the battery box

There appears to be a fuel filter on the passenger side, right next to the exhaust. Odd location if that is what it is.

The oil pan looks really close to the front diff. The clearance there is something to watch for if you take it off road.

Are you really in Boston? The north east winters will destroy it. I would just get a 200 series and let it die a slow death by salt brine. That aside, it looks nice. Does the cruise control work? Im surprised the stock radiator keeps it cool. Im also surprised the oil pan doesn't hit. I see some things I would do differently but the price is probably worth it.

OP, have you driven an 80 series with the factory 4.5? I don't mind it, or the 2F in my FJ60. I have driven an FJ62 and the automatic made it feel slow. I personally would buy the cleanest OEM example I could find over a restored unit with an engine swap. NeverFinis did a great job detailing shortcomings in the above build.

I said that I would never sell my fully mechanically-restored 6.0L/6 Speed LX450 ever, but wow, I think I might have to consider if someone offered $145K. 🤔

I think the transmission for the truck in the Ad is a 4 speed, rather than 6, 8 or 10 speed. My truck has a 6 speed 6L90e, a heavy duty version of the 6L80e. 8 and 10 speeds are rare in conversions as the kits only recently came on the market.

More stuff.
Missing rubber hood support on both fenders

T-case breather might not be hooked up.
1753673536204.webp

T-case has been opened and resealed. Not a bad thing, just need to know why.

There is a temp sensor behind this bumper vent for the Automatic Climate Control. Blocking it with lights probably not a good idea and will prevent good airflow over the sensor. .

Front seats appear to be raised?
1753674086782.webp

Missing the factory foam below the A/C condenser. It is used to force air through the condenser and not by pass it.
1753705653115.webp

Removed the t-case vibration dampener. It does get in the way of a LS exhaust, assuming you run it inside the frame rail.

Found another pic of the fuel filter from the other side. They did run the high pressure line across to the passenger side...the other line on the other side with band clamps might be the return. I prefer using factory fuel lines like I did. The factory goes to great lengths to keep the fuel lines out of harm's way . Running them above a driveshaft is not a good idea.

I wonder what fuel pump was used?

$145k, really? And with stretched out seat back netting and no extra cupholders 😆

I’ll DM you to review the next truck I’m looking at buying. Good eyes!

Posting the VIN here for future google searches: JT3HJ85J6V0172044

OP might not buy it, but someone else might do a VIN search on it.

The "Experian AutoCheck Report" is 2 years old.

Auctioned on Copart, twice. It could have a salvage title if the vehicle was in an accident (totaled by insurance), or it wasn't worth selling to a private party.

I would love to see what it looked like on Copart but they hide past auctions.

I would definitely check for accident damage and a salvage title now. Oh, do a CarFax. A 2 year old "Experian AutoCheck Report" is worthless.

The linked page to corsetti is now blank.

Based on what NeverFinis documented that 80 appears to not be a Joe Rogan level build.

Just the appearance of the brake lines in the engine bay, the cheapo worm screw clamps, etc; that's what you might expect to find at a small used car lot
in a bad section of town.

I wouldn't buy it for $45k, $145k is a total joke.

Run Forest Run

$145,000 is ****ing dumb. If you spend that much on an 80, no matter what's been done to it, you're a dumbass. Full stop.

If anyone wants all 3 of my 80s for $145K, hit me up. I'll even include the totes of working parts I replaced 'while i was in there'.

OK, so found all the photos in the link above, all what NeverFinis already wrote. Interior looks ~OK (cheap steering wheel rewrap), engine bay ~OK (rusty rebuilt brake booster, f--ked up brake lines,---).

Already mentioned, Agree, the paint job is more difficult to say how much effort was put into it and what was removed before painting partly because the website does not allow you to download the photos (to magnify them). The rear hatch glass rubber gasket looks like they may have taped it off before painting (note the left lower corner) instead of removing the glass. So if all of the glass on the vehicle was not removed before painting that's a big negative when you're asking mega-bucks. Ditto for the door handles, can't tell if they were removed for painting.

The weeping knuckles really tell the story; whomever worked on it was not familiar with this model. That's the first thing any Mudhead would
fix. Other things like the rear driveshaft looks original, didn't even bother to paint it, and a used steering stabilizer just slapped back in place.

Also hard to tell from the photos but the rear-most section of the rocker panels may have had work done on them and the dogleg section on both sides
doesn't look quite right (replaced due to rust??). Need better photos but either way if anyone considers buying it they should hire a few experts (and a few Mud members) to check it out completely.

Agree, the paint job would need a very close inspection, for that kind of money I'd hire a senior master body repair tech to look it over closely and write a report on what he found. Same for the mechanical bits.
