That turned out really nice! Does the orange indicator show in the "1" position as well?

Yes, it does.

I'm liking these decals just curious on if they'd hold up in the 100+* temps in AZ

It's a high quality vinyl sticker, but yes, we want to make sure they hold up well before we start mailing them out. AZ would be quite a proving ground.

Now, we’ll take a little bit of a detour from the major drivetrain work. Everyone knows Blue Sea fuseblocks are handy. Here’s a little trick to make them even handier in trucks with dual batteries.

Instead of modifying the original transmission pan, we decided to go with a slightly more shallow pan.

Nicely done Guys.

Did you measure to get the MAF in a specific location to get the right amount of air flow?

I know with the 5.3L crate engines the location of the MAF in the tube between the intake and the air housing is essential.

I didn't really measure much. I understand the sensitivity of a MAF in some of these newer systems. I focused on making the air flow as smooth as possible. Will we run into tuning issues? That is a very real possibility!

I remember seeing someone having issues with run condition on a truck that had a snorkel and V8. Hopefully we can tune accordingly!

This tune is also based on the earlier throttle by cable setup, which is less sensitive to intake airflow. The throttle by wire setups seem to be more touchy.

*side note* the MAF on the new Coyote 5.0 is VERY touchy!!!

The MAF curve will need to be calibrated with the truck on the dyno using wide band.

The OEM calibration is done within within very specific parameters and you have now changed those.

Even taking and rotating the MAF 90* in the all OEM air track will have an effect on the curve and this alters the AFR.

Take the time to get the MAF curve right before any other tuning and you'll have a much more refined end product.

Fantastic build!!!!

I have had excellent results doing a live tune with HP tuners. Hook up to obd port and tune live while driving.

i will vouch for the MAF and calibration issues. I reused most of the original intake track and had to do a lot of tuning to get the trim back in line.

It's lots of fun driving down the road and recording the activity on the HP tuners software. then i had to go back and make small adjustments to the MAF curve. My biggest issue was pinging and crazy long term fuel trims.

Hp tuners is a must have.
