Hey muddertruckers!

Been a long while but we're back and we got this big beaut on a ship today from Nagoya!!

Found this really clean 14,000mile aux rural fire svc gem on the .JP for 11k shipped!

Putting this place holder post up to signal the start of this camper/ rally inspired build.

I can't stand waiting for RORO Shipments 😅😅😅

I can already tell this is going to be AWESOME.

Sweet!
Looking forward to see what you end up doing with it.
Does it have the 5L?

Retired fire truck Toyota's are slowly creeping into Mud!

The original truck ended up having a fractured chassis. Found this one unfortunately missing the duel bench seats in the back and tilt cab but everything I need. Already working on a body lift, got some new larger tires and some creature comforts inside the cab

@luzercruiser How much of a body lift did you make? I've added 1" to one we are working on, and the transmission linkage is now funky. Difficult to get in reverse & 3rd; won't go ion 5th. Did you have to make adjustments somehow?

I came to the same issue in measurements and haven't don't the lift yet. We are looking at just getting longer cables made

Some shots of the truck over the past year. Haven't done much yet, just collecting accessories so I can make sure all the systems have enough space in the build

Our shift linkage is rods, not cable, so a different issue to deal with. I made a shifter rod extension to get that shift point down and reverse is now clean. 3rd is OK, but not great; and still can't get 5th. There is a rod support bracket at the back of the cab that keeps the rods high at that point. Hopefully we find a simple way to drop the bracket a bit to clean things up.

Ah good to know, the hijet I had before this had push pull cables for the shift linkage and I suspected it'd be the same style 😬 saved myself in the engineering software in one spot but not the other I guess haha
