Must have missed it. I thought I subscribed to your 60 thread:hmm: What is the title?

Ha! Not much of a thread but its called "https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/398381-new-addition-85-fj60.html"

Picked up some paint and primer for the links yesterday. Got the duplicolor bronze wheel paint that Ive been wanting to try for a while now. Almost got the gold chrome lookin paint for s***s but managed to resist, I figure nobody is gonna see em so theyre good for a paint test. Should be painted and installed on my next 7 days off.

Great thread, I just read the whole thing. Truck is looking really good, like the approach you have taken to it. Nice to see someone else fixing the rust on a 80 like me. I was almost convinced I was the only one doing body work and breaking all the damn bolts under the truck.

Keep us the good work, so reliving to see some one doing it all them self. Also not buying all the parts and actually making things.

I hit my arb and dented it in the other day and making me think about when I will make some custom stuff. More and more am I liking the simple 80s, a high clearance bumper like yours, so i will probably be stealing a lot of your ideas, some tweaking of the designs but yours as inspiration. Either way you have quite the fleet!

Got the links painted the other day but not much else. Its been -25-30 and snowing and i didnt feel like workin on the salt encrusted pile just yet.

Took a couple shots after doing a lap around the back nine of a local golf course with a buddy today.

I finally threw the tacoma outside for the day and got to those steering links. The van came close to not fitting in the garage since the pad outside the garage door heaved about 1 1/2"... Had to go down to 8psi in both rear tires and contort myself out the ds window while inching forward to make sure I didnt take out the garage door. I literally had one index finger of extra room.

The job went smooth for once and Im amazed at how much tighter the steering feels with all new tie rods.

The bronze looks kinda neat too.

Wait till you need tie rods, thats the only reason I did it. Kind of worked out pretty cool that I did it this weekend since my buddy pulled up in his hdj on thurs to show me his bent relay rod. Im gonna give him my old one to mess with.

Well it tracks straight and nothin fell apart. Drove 3 hrs too long to end up at a ski hill that was 1000' too small but had a fun day none the less.

Steering wheel is a tiny bit crooked but thats a simple fix I may never get to.

I like the looks of that hardware, D.

Doesn't seem to be too big a job:wrench:, once you get over the salt water in your eye this time of year;)?
