Many of you probably know me, but I thought I’d start a thread to doc my workings. Bought my Troopy in Honduras last year when we were living there and drove it back to Texas when we came back. I have lots of plans and they will happen very slowly. Lol. I’ll update what I’ve done little by little and some insight into the adventures we’ve had with her so far.

That was a few weeks ago after camping at the lake. We’ve since sold the RTT (to small for the fam). She’s a 1991 Former HND Gov. Troop Carrier with a 1HZ, no a/c, heat or power steering. She is slow and basic, but a tank. I call her the Jag after the Jade Jaguar shifter I had made for her. That’s it for now! -Daniel Kent

:D I usually just do French Press, but I’m going to the Solid Axle Summit in Aug. and I’ll bring a percolator to help provide coffee for the masses!

The day we left Copán Ruinas, Honduras to drive to our first stop in Zavala, Guatemala. The transfer case started acting out in the first part as the Troopy was loaded way down and the mountains of Guat are pretty intense going from 1,500’ to 6,500’ over and over again.

We did make it to Zavala and decided to hang with our friends there for several days. We tried to take the trip slow and steady.

We visited an old train yard, a museum and searched for window rain guards (which I didn’t find).

Some randomness with this guy laying down in a different position... Nothing says home like razor wire and this is one thing I don’t miss about Latin America. Found a sweet coffee container, but didn’t get it. Also before we left, we purged around half of what we had in the Troopy in an effort to reduce the strain on the Transfer case. If we have to give stuff away we couldn’t have done it with better people. There was a leak btw that we fixed with some silicone.

Alright Daniel! Coming along nicely! No AC...I'm sorry man. Lol! Want to check it out if you get back to Keller at any point. :)
Thanks bud! I’m looking into a few a/c options, but honestly I’ve gotten kinda used to it. Lol. We may move back to DFW in the next couple years, but time will tell.

I didn't have AC in my first 3 vehicles and it never really bothered me - but in my commute now there is no way. Lol

No more living in HND, but I’ll be flying there one to two times a year do do ministry and work with coffee farmers. After having our lives threatened for the ownership of our coffee farm from what we thought was a great friend we decided to come back and just travel there.
