the amp meter seems to be working, those 24V units move very little.

love the insulation in the floor, if you happen to pass a hardware store. hot water tank wrap works EXCELLENT on the floor, quiet, insulates, cuts easily and best of all ... CHEAP.

cheers and safe trip

Had to stop for about an hour and a bit. The more tired I got the looser the steering seemed to get. Wierd eh?

slip into neutral and save fuel and noise ...
you did the Choqu? if it didn't die on those hills then you are golden for the drive home. congrats.

Ok, if the engine is running hot should the fan clutch be locked up solid??

Can't get much slower. 80kph on level ground and the temp is at the warning line.

The fam coupler is free wheeling. So I manually locked it up (see pic) and idled it up. Temp dropped right away

I'm heading out Sat morning with the 'burb. Lets meet up somewhere.

Maybe at the side of the Crowchild just north of the Stony Trail interchange.

What time?

Sure, what time? Id be willing to go to ricky's or some other breakfast place before hand if anyone else was keen on it.

Thanks for posting that pic. Have to remember that for a trail fix.

Nice 42. BTW, If it really was full tank when you left Nanaimo, I'd make fuel stops sooner than you think, since thats less than 200km of flat land highway driving to Hope.

Hope to Revelstoke on 41.7L

Just checked my fan and had to tighten both the hose clamp and the fan belt cuz it was sliping

Hope to Revelstoke on 41.7L

I heard from a couple sources that a train hauling gold (and maybe other loot) in the early 1900's was knocked into that lake by an avalanche.

The bottom of the lake is covered in silty muddy goo and is decievingly deep so it was never recovered and has been somewhat forgotten over time.

I suspect one day some outfit will try and recover it.

Did you make it passed the mud slide near Banff before it came down this afternoon or are you stuck on the other side? Hope so! Congrats on the new 40!

I don't know.

But if he was in Revelstoke at 10:30, he would have hit Banff before 3:30.

The eastbound lanes are re-opened but the line up must be miles long.

Just got home. 24 hours on the road minus an hour and a half power nap 10km before Kamloops.

If I was 90 seconds sooner I would have been in the slide. I counted two lanes of about 43 cars between me and 6 feet of mud.

They had a chopper there in less than 5 min and cleared my side of the hwy in 2.5 hours.

My phone died after my last post so no more pics. I had a charger but the socket in the 42 was dead. Prolly 24 volt anyway.
