I'll swap all my toy/LC emblems to Lx/Lexus in your honor if you wanna sell them, including the most important valve cover spark plug tin thingy

Wow, sir, very glad you are okay!

Sounds like future plans will be fun!

Haven't said much in this thread but have went through it more than once in the last year I've been on Mud. Very happy that you are ok and have an excellent outlook on moving forward in a positive manor, as I know that would be very difficult. Thanks for your contributions with this build and this thread and I look forward to watching your next project develop.

Not going to lie, seeing the images really drives it home... what if that was my swaybar-less 80 and I had other passengers in the vehicle? Sure gets you thinking....

Same here, it has gotten me a tad bit worried. Especially with a little one on the way..

I applaud your attitude and frame of mind,

It's a tragedy for the machine, a costly mistake for me, but far from the worst s*** my life has encountered.

No sense in crying over rolled 80s.....

When the 80 bucks you off, you get right back in one....

If at first you fail miserably, and publicly, you try and try again....

Can either view the 80 as half rolled or rolled half.... ( huh?)

When life hands you rolled 80s, you make bad ass Pigs....

Revolution at work....(get that? Instead of evolution?)

Keep calm and 80 on... ( ghey )

Look on the bright side. Could've hit a busload of nuns...

You CAN teach an old 80 new tricks...

Those all kinda suck, but took the time to type, so :flipoff2:

most woulda tucked their tails and went hermit for a few weeks, at least, myself included.

As any self respecting man of moderate intelligence SHOULD do.

From the onset, said I'd share victories and failures.....

Thinking this falls into the ultimate fail category.

Sun shines on an 80s belly, some days.

It's had me thinking for two damn years and therein lies the greatest tragedy.

Truly thankful that no one else's lives or property were impacted because of my own stupidity, including that of my family.

Clearly my fault and have no choice but to own that.

So you continuing down the 80 path or venturing into the more vintage version of this pedigree again/more so?

Sorry to hear about the rig Chris but I'm happy to see you getting back on the horse. If there is anything I can do including buying you a beer hit me up.

What is wrong with Side by sides.

This count?

I am also disappointed that nobody has indicated that this damage will buff right out.

Casually hunting a new 80.

At this point, the very specific criteria sought stipulates an 80, as I have absolutely no desire to weld 162 holes again.

well, you don't HAVE to deflare - just sayin'

May need to keep the flares for the full widths...

But the body cladding, roof rack, spoiler, gotta go!!

If anyone has any recommendations on a good bender/fabricator, I'm all ears. Preferably Central US.

I hate the thought of this LX being stashed in a bay for "future" use and want to seek a viable solution....now.

Know what I want to do, which will require a donor body, but lack the skills to implement the tube work.

Holy s*** man, just caught up with the last couple pages. Terribly sorry about the truck, glad you made it out alive. I've always liked how you had the truck set up. The handling on lifted 80s scares me and is the reason I won't let my wife behind the wheel. I've had the looming fear in the back of my mind that all it takes is one little emergency evasive maneuver and my truck will be totaled, so I try to drive like a grandma on the freeway and leave plenty of distance from the car in front. But much of that risk is beyond our control. Even more incentive to cut out the stock suspension and do it right while I still can with 4WU's kit.

Hope to see you back in a rig soon :)
