Tailgate weighs a bunch more, with the added WagonGear lid and deadener. Hinge reinforcement may be in the future.

Not sure how to carry the spare in the cargo bay, or if I could stand the smell of smeltering rubber. If it lays flat, takes all the room to the lower lip of the rear window, and standing up takes 35% of the width.

Was trying for a minimalist approach and avoiding a swing out, but drawing blanks on a permanent solution.

After scrubbing carpet for two hours, would like to enjoy the new car smell for, at least, a couple days.

Hats off to Kevin at WagonGear. Great product. Probably store in bags and pack full, since there's no much room for metal mesh and Quick Fist.

All new window seals and door gaskets coming from Beno. Last of the loads from him, since his career move, but have greatly appreciated the insight, expertise, and the occasional pep talk.

All here for the lift, save relay and drag link.

All attempts at securing a day on a lift have been rescheduled, but soon.

Then to determine where to cut the fenders.

Looks great Chris, very clean!

Question about the 37's and power, was there a significant decline in the 80's power with them on? Will it drive me nuts if I don't regear immediately?

In all honesty, no. Not for the minimal amount I've driven it, considering she rubs a little (hmmmm. Haha) in the current state.

I don't have many complaints about the loss on the FJC and one of the few.

Be fine driving it without immediate gearing. If I wasn't headed the direction of a more dedicated trail rig, I'd go 4.88s if any at all.

Looks great, I too recently enjoyed scrubbing carpets and the headliner. this weekend new leather goes on and the stereo install starts. It is so hot too.

I got a few parts from Beno and now he is in my neck of the woods.

Headliner was stained beyond scrubbing clean, thanks to the POs drywall toggles securing roof rack, so had it and all the tan interior recovered locally for $100. Saw the headliner today, and it looks pretty good. Hope to be prepared to pick up tomorrow.

Have new covers coming from Shane and went with brown. Same shop said they'd swap for $200 (front and second row, arm rest, console) and I'll gladly pay that. Hmm. Just realized I forgot to order the seat rail extenders. Delay. Hate to do in the driveway with new leather.

What are your plans for stereo, specifically speakers? (just realized I don't have speakers, either. Another delay at completing interior reassembly).

I've perused threads but haven't found a OEMish appearing HU, and trumps all. I'd be happy with an iPod interface with the OE deck, but haven't found yet.

Granted there's no carpet or any interior panels installed, but not "hushed" enough, considering expense and effort. Felt the same remorse after doing the roof of the FJC.

Hopefully, once the interior is installed, I'll think differently.

Consider shooting sound deadener or Dynaliner on top of the Hush Mat and you may find it hush enough ...you will think differently with the carpet and panels back in.....Worked for me ....and with your headliner out are you dong the roof?

Although that looks awsome lou. Its not exactly how the sound deadener is supossed to work. Its suppossed to be like putting your finger on a drum. Meaning a sqaure in the middle of a panel will do the same as sealing the entire panel. I would have done the inside of the outer skin on the doors. Doing the entire floor will certaining stop the noise and heat though :).

It's probably hard to tell in these photo's but I did the inside of the outer skin along with the inside panel that you see in these photo's . I used Fat Mat Rattle Trap Extreme and than coated with Second Skin sound deadener.... Following the instructions of the company the makes the product was the smart choice for the results I was looking for. I did a similar process on my 55 build adding a additional coating of Ceramic Sludge from Second Skin to help in heat reduction.... I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Anthony from Second Skin. ( He may still be a vendor on Mud). before application and he never mentioned your technique..... not saying you're not right, in my research I didn't see anything like that...... I'm extremely happy with the results and my 80 is bank vault quiet....

I bet it is. I'm concerned (no interior door panels installed) about breaking the glass when closing the door, as it is.

Lou,
Do you have pics of your roof install?

All I have done on roof, so far, is apply to the latter half, behind sunroof pocket.

I can't tell what would be in the way of headliner installation on the outer "rim" above the pillars, and I didn't do the bottom of the sunroof enclosure for same reason.

I hadn't lost sleep over, yet, but primarily due to experience on the FJC. Went nuts on it, and didn't do much for mitigating windshield drone.

Also, did you do the outer/inner front fenders?

I did not do the upper lip or the pilar's and didn't touch the front fender wells... I have zero tire noise inside the cabin... I did end up dropping my sunroof tray so I could remove the sunroof shade that I needed to recover to match the marine vinyl headliner I did . So I was able to sound deaden the area above the tray.... If your sun shade is in good condition don't drop the tray... It was a PITA job .... If you do remove it you'll have to calibrate the sunroof motor so it functions properly... There's a thread on that .
I would have used the Second Skin sound Deadener on the floor but I was using the left over from my 55 project and didn't have enough, so I thought.. When I moved last Oct I found another gallon under the work bench. You are moving at a fast pace ... Looking good!

Recovering the shade was on the docket today, but didn't realize that dropping the tray was necessary. May not have a choice in the matter, since the balance of the OE tan was replaced with an off the shelf close match.

Comedy of miscalculations.

There's a nutsert rolling around in the tray, compliments of the PO, that had to be located, too. Should've gone with the original plan of deleting the sunroof, but too far in now, considering new glass was sitting on my doorstep yesterday.

Plus, I'm out of deadener.

Good info and I appreciate the advice. I spent a lot of time searching for the vehicle and researching/planning, but missed minor details that have caused compounding delays, as well blowing the budget wide open.

It's not funny, but I'm laughing at the fact that I may near the original MSRP by the time this is done.

I'd be interested in going to Superlift in October. Will this beast be ready by then???

I love the look and function of the Wagongear products, they really are made well.

Working on the complex algorithm now, determining completion time. At the rate I'm going, I'll be lucky to have the interior done by then, but have the FJC ready (minus my axle/tie rod-coil contact) anyhow.

Like tailgate lid. Going to figure out side panels and storage means for, eventually.
