^^. Will that clear the panhard?

Saw a couple weeks back, but out of stock then, too.

I have one but haven't welded it on yet. It will not clear the panhard bar, so the top 1/3 or so needs to be removed. Even after removing the top portion, the diff will be very protected. I will try and install mine next weekend as I wrap up the 3-link.

I dont know, but it may be worth a call to them. It looks like a part they probably fabricate based on demand.

More waiting. Hahaha.

Will do if headed this route, for sure.

Have the TG plate that covers the face only, but it appears it'd be stronger if it actually welded back to the base.

May spend some time beating on plate to see of I can get it to conform to the 3 individual faces, and wrap one on the bottom, too, of front and rear.

Got into the rear drive shaft pretty good, too, but can't see any way to protect the pinion without making third removal impossible, or without the hassle of extending the studs and bolting.

Probably over thinking, but sustained enough trail rash to warrant..... I think.

No, I just welded a tab either side of the centre to the bottom of the tube. And just drilled a hole through a fin in the 3rd member right near the pinion. And the skid plate just bolts straight up to the tabs and fin. So easily removable for when the centre has to come out.

Well, I got the shaft......

Is the potential for pinion damage as real as it appears?

Not really. That's why it's more of a skid plate. Just something flat that won't get hung up on rocks etc. Used to do alot of diff shaving back in the days of old. But no one bothers anymore.

Dude you just wheeled your pink panty for the first time in the rocks. Instead of thinking how much more money you need to throw at it based on your mistakes just wheel it. I guarantee the more seat time you have the less you'll be slamming into your third members. Reinforce the ring gear and drain plug and carry on.

Still do the ram assist that is a necessary upgrade if you want to play in the rocks :flipoff2:

Pretty fancy driveshaft! Hope it works!

You and I both.

In theory, there's no reason it shouldn't, by design, plus all new OE components, except the ball and claw.

I'm uncertain on the slip yoke, though it was originally described as all Toyota minus the tube.

Who did you get it from?

Jess at High Angle.

A calculated component of the deal is, if it doesn't work, I'm not stuck with another driveshaft, per Jessie's guarantee to me and, I believe, all his customers.

Ben Swain (sp?) at Slee would be a potential source for, too,......if it works. They've a customer running on a rear of a tall 80 successfully, and know they can source the same shaft, probably for less money.

Can't wait to try, so may forgo paint and run it later today.

Good to know. Won't worry about, for now.

Thinking I can shave some off the diff by running 38s, anyway.

Ahhhh, the memory of the first time in pink panties.

The preparation, anticipation, the crazy voices in your head, (either head), the build up, then explosiveness of the actual situation.

After, all you can think about is the next time, how to improve the experience, how to get back there as soon and as often as possible.

Assuming you know what I'm taking about. :flipoff2:

One resounding matter, though, is protection, in some form or circumstance, since minimizing the worry and uncertainty that going without can produce.

The less uncertainty of undesired affects, the better the overall experience.

Anyhow, that's my plan anyway.
Cutting a front and rear face place that extends from top to bottom of the ring gear, then rounding a plate along the bottom. Going to ramp the lower link mounts with tube, gusset the bumper, too, on Monday.

Really going to need it with the 38s.

Considering pulling the Trail Ready's off the FJC and moving over to the 80. The FJC has seen its last day wheeling until the SA, or it's swapped for a 40 or 60.

Jesse does a good job, he has done 4 driveshafts for me. I agree in principle it should work, hopefully it is just bolt in and go! I would just paint it, that way when it does work you don't have to take it out again. Positive thinking ;)

Then going to try to skip out early to get home to paint. Haha. Want to know today.

I'd spoke with Jess before ordering the Australian components and he spent plenty of time explaining all the variables, then saying to run what was readily available first, if that didn't work to go this route and he'd warranty.

Now I have (4) front shafts. Hoping it works.

Hey we'll take our little FJC and wheel against your pink panty
