Huge thanks to Nero at Titan Motorsports for basically "sponsoring" me. He gave me $600 off Carillo rods and CP pistons just because he wants to see where this project goes. That savings allowed me to go from the Super-A rods to the Super-H rods. Super-A's are rated from Carillo for 150-200hp per cylinder while the Super-H's are rated at 275hp per cylinder so I should be able to go as crazy as I want with this motor.

Nero is also thinking about starting up his 1FZFE performance engine program again so we might see some things of use in the future from them.

Titan is down the street from me. I'm going to have to pay them a visit and gift them for you :)

Haha yeah definitely pay them a visit, they have a cool shop even if you just want to go check out some cool cars and shoot the s***.

So are you going to use 10:1 pistons still? Also what did you decided about the transmission?

I've been there ;)

Aren't you doing a turbo? Wouldn't you want compression to be lower or are you not worried about it due to the beef of the Cruiser engine?

I have Titan working with CP to see if they can get a forged piston blank the size I need for around 9.5:1-10:1 with a 101mm bore and a 95mm stroke.

This should give me about a 4.6L engine.

@cruisermatt the new current trend in the Turbo world is to go to higher compression around 10:1 because you get faster spool and more power both in and out of boost. The reason this is possible now days but wasn't back in the day is that we have a lot more control over fueling and have figured out how to efficiently reduce intake air temps, create load based timing tables, etc. So detonation can be better avoided now than it was in the past.

@bignasty I am still considering ATF Speed but I am really concerned that it will not be up to the task. SO I am still brainstorming ideas. Some wild some not so wild.

Why not 5spd swap it? Just slap a triple plate carbon Tilton clutch.

The H beam roads are a good choice. I used them on my 2jz, along with CP pistons. Took everything I tossed at it.

Titan guys are good, always liked dealing with them back in the day.

@Wheelingnoob are you talking about an H150/151? From my understanding they can hold even less power than the built autos. I could be wrong but it seems like the guys in Aus swap them out for the auto.

Lol, I know it will kill some of the fun for you, but how about talking them into giving you that 1FZ that has been for sale on their site forever? Please?! Im tired of the reposts of that ad!

Thanks @ZA80 those really do look great, but at this point I am a little tapped out. A $3500 intake manifold is out of the budget. :-( I will have the manifold that @bignasty sent me cleaned up and use it. It just arrived today but I haven't even had a chance to unbox it. 15 hours in the hospital today. :-/

Seems like they do some nice work. Especially if you look at the Facebook page.

Hahaha @thatcabledude I am not even going to come near that even at a 50% discount. lol. Not to mention it is a destroked 3.5L, not really the right direction for me. lol. Why destroke a 1FZ to 3.5L, when you can stroke a 2JZ to 3.4L? 2JZ is much lighter and smaller.
