Builds 80 series where to start! Again.... (3 Viewers)

I am totally fine shipping but I really need one in better condition and that has an engine and runs. I would like to do some data collection on a stock 80, using the OBDII port and create an ignition map.

What is your budget? I didn't realize the second one was green. Looked black on my 'puter.

Ha! No that is definitely not what I meant.

But I mean if the perfect truck comes along for $12k I would be more likely to buy than one that is not what I have in mind for $3k. It is flexible, but the truck needs to be in quite good shape, simply because I am going to use the interior as safeguard future parts for my current truck since I am going to strip the interior out and redo it. And rust is a big issue for me, since I do not want to drop a huge amount of money into a truck that is literally dissolving under the new engine and turbo.

Not to mention rust is heavier and if I want to hit my weight target..... :flipoff2::flipoff2:

Given the difficulty finding an 80 I am seriously considering a 100 series and doing a motor swap.

Your junk isn't black or stock. It would take me 2 years just to strip all the NLFANCY projects out of it! And I would still have a truck that overheats. :flipoff2:;) Lol

Hmm, I might have one available I'd let go for 20k...I could even deliver it :hmm: :flipoff2:

Or would you? So far today after driving around half the day mostly city. Very little highlight. Hot as balls today. :flipoff2:

Yeah that is nuts and makes no sense but as long as it works that is all that matters. Are you sure you didn't accidentally replace the cats while you were fixing the exhaust leak? :deadhorse: lol

Nooooooooo joke. Me too :(

Stupid exhaust leak, how crazy is that?

The cats were replaced about a month earlier :flipoff2:
